Department of General Surgery, The Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University, Wuxi NO. 4 People's Hospital, Wuxi 214062, PR China. Electronic address:

This study aims to decipher the impact and downstream mechanisms of the bioinformatically identified circ_0038138 delivered by cancer-derived exosomes in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC). Expression of circ_0038138 in clinical GAC tissues and exosomes (Exos) from clinical plasma samples (plasma-Exos) was predicted by bioinformatics analysis and validated by RT-qPCR. The binding affinity between circ_0038138, miR-198 and EZH2 was identified using luciferase activity, RIP, and RNA pull-down assays.

Encouraging insight into novel underlying mechanisms targeting abnormal biological pathways in colorectal cancer (CRC) are currently under investigation, edging closer and closer to clinical use. Of note, basic leucine zipper ATF-like transcription factor 3 (BATF3) has been implicated with the tumorigenicity of CRC. The current study aimed to elucidate the oncogenic BATF3-mediated S1PR1/p-STAT3/miR-155-3p/WDR82 axis in CRC.

Objective: Gastric cancer is the second highest mortality tumor and the fourth most common cancer worldwide that has high aggressiveness. MicroRNA-181d (miR-181d) has been established to be a tumor suppressor, by suppressing cell proliferation, cell cycle, and promoting apoptosis in several cancers. The purpose of this study is to explore the great roles of miR-181d in gastric cancer.

Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Key Laboratory of Nutrition, Metabolism and Food Safety, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences , 320 Yueyang Road , Shanghai 200031 , People's Republic of China.

It is well-known that imbalance state of glucose metabolism triggers many metabolic diseases and glucose uptake in skeletal muscle accounts for 90% of body weight. Geniposide is one of the major natural bioactive constituents of gardenia fruit, and the regulation of geniposide on glucose metabolism in skeletal muscle has not yet been investigated. Here, on the basis of microarray analysis, we discovered that geinposide decreased pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 (PDK4) expression in skeletal muscle of mice and subsequently found that geniposide inhibited the expressions of forkhead box O1 (FoxO1), PDK4, and phosphorylated pyruvate dehydrogenase in vitro and in vivo.

Introduction: Melanoma is a deadly malignancy and the poor prognosis of patients with advanced disease is relatively poor. Recent studies indicate that long non-coding RNAs are involved in the pathogenesis of malignant melanoma. This study aims to investigate the role of the long non-coding RNA H19 in melanoma and to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms.

The exploration of electroactive labelling with tailorable and strong differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) responses is of great importance in accurate and sensitive screening of a panel of biomarkers related to cancer. Herein, shell-encoded gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) are fabricated and give rise to shell species-dominated DPV peak potentials. Two independent DPV peaks appear at -0.

Objective: The purposes of this study were to evaluate the feasibility of a purely endoscopic intradural approach to the suprasellar, petroclival, and ventrolateral brainstem regions through a subtemporal keyhole and to assess the value of neuronavigational assistance in the Kawase approach.

Methods: Twenty endoscopic intradural subtemporal keyhole approaches were performed on 10 cadaveric heads. An intradural Kawase approach and a navigation-assisted intradural Kawase approach were then carried out on a random side of each specimen.

Aberrant expression of B7-H4 occurs across a broad spectrum of human cancers. The aim of this study was to investigate the key role of B7-H4 during tumorigenesis and metastasis of human lung cancer. Our data showed that the shRNA-mediated disruption of B7-H4 markedly inhibited tumor cell proliferation, invasion and migration, increased cell apoptosis and arrested cell cycle at G0/G1.

Background: Pulmonary arterial hypertension is characterized by increased pressure overload that leads to right ventricular hypertrophy (RVH). GPR91 is a formerly orphan G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that has been characterized as a receptor for succinate; however, its role in RVH remains unknown.

Methods And Results: We investigated the role of succinate-GPR91 signaling in a pulmonary arterial banding (PAB) model of RVH induced by pressure overload in SD rats.

Background: The CD95 gene plays a key role in regulating cell growth and tumor genesis. To date, several publications have focused on the CD95 rs1800682A/G site polymorphism and various types of tumors in Asians; however, this association is still controversial and obscure. Therefore, a meta-analysis combined with all publications to clarify this association is necessary.

Sunitinib, a small-molecule multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been applied in phase II clinical trial as second-line treatment for advanced gastric cancer. In this study, we determined the effect of Sunitinib on the multidrug resistance in gastric cancer cells selected by vincristine. Our results showed that Sunitinib significantly enhanced the cytotoxicity of adriamycin, vincristine, etoposide, 5-Fluorouracil, and cisplatin in multidrug-resistant gastric cancer cells (SGC7901/VCR).
