Recurrent spontaneous abortions (RSA) are defined as aborting three or more times within 20 gestational weeks with the same sexual partner. The occurrence of RSA exhibits an upward trend in modern society. The NACHT, LRR and PYD domains‑containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, which is an important component of innate immunity, serves a role in the immune response and in disease occurrence.

Background: The association between vitamin D deficiency and early spontaneous pregnancy loss (SPL) is unclear.

Objectives: To assess the association of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and SPL.

Search Strategy: Embase, PubMed, and Web of Science were searched for relevant papers published before February 20, 2016, using search terms including "vitamin D" and "pregnancy loss.

Gambogic acid inhibits the growth of ovarian cancer tumors by regulating p65 activity.

Ovarian cancer patients often have poor prognosis, therefore, it is important to search for more effective therapeutic strategies to treat them. Gambogic acid (GA) exhibits an anti-tumor effect through various mechanisms, and has multiple targets in tumor cells. The present study aimed to elucidate the efficacy of GA in the treatment of ovarian cancer both and by analyzing its impact on cell survival and tumor growth through cell cycle and apoptosis analysis.

[Prenatal diagnosis for a women with a suspected birth history of Angelman syndrome].

The role of miR-200a in vasculogenic mimicry and its clinical significance in ovarian cancer.

Objective: Vasculogenic mimicry (VM) indicates that aggressive cancer cells can form de novo vascular networks and provide a perfusion pathway for rapidly growing tumors. MiR-200a has been reported significantly deregulated in ovarian cancer. However, miR-200a regulation of VM and its clinical significance in ovarian cancer remain not elucidated.

miR-141 contributes to fetal growth restriction by regulating PLAG1 expression.

Background: Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is an important but poorly understood condition of pregnancy, which results in significant fetal, neonatal and long-term morbidity and mortality. Novel research has suggested that altered miRNA expression in the plasma and placenta is associated with adverse pregnancy. We hypothesized that aberrant expression of microRNA-141 (miR-141) in the placenta is associated with FGR.

Background: Thyrosulfoconjugation appears to facilitate fetal-to-maternal transfer of 3,3'-diiodothyronine-sulfate (T(2)S). Elevated maternal levels of T(2)S cross-reactive material (compound W) are found in humans, with higher levels found in venous cord blood than in arterial samples. These findings are consistent with the postulate that the placenta plays an essential role in compound W production.

Epidemiologic findings are inconsistent concerning the association of endometrial cancer risk with alcohol consumption. Therefore, we conduct a meta-analysis of studies that assessed the association of alcohol consumption and the risk of endometrial cancer. A systematic literature search up to April 2010 was performed in MEDLINE and EMBASE, and study-specific risk estimates were pooled using a random-effects model.

Hsa-mir-27a genetic variant contributes to gastric cancer susceptibility through affecting miR-27a and target gene expression.

Aberrant microRNA (miRNA) expression is presently proposed to correlate with various human cancers and common single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) at miRNA genes can influence the maturation of miRNAs or miRNA-mediated transcriptional regulation. However, whether miRNAs SNP alter gastric cancer susceptibility is still unclear. Here we investigated the possible role of a common A/G polymorphism (rs895819) within hsa-mir-27a in the development or progression of gastric cancer, and assessed the effect of rs895819 on the expression of miR-27a and its target gene Zinc finger and BTB domain containing 10 (ZBTB10).

The preparation and characterization of folate-conjugated human serum albumin magnetic cisplatin nanoparticles.

Objective: Nanoparticles are becoming an important method of targeted drug delivery. To evaluate the importance of folate-conjugated human serum albumin (HSA) magnetic nanoparticles (Folate-CDDP/HSA MNP), we prepared drug-loaded Folate-CDDP/HSA MNPs and characterized their features.

Methods: First, folate was conjugated with HSA under the effect of a condensing agent, and the conjugating rate was evaluated by a colorimetric method using 2, 4, 6 - trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid.

Preventing and treating lymphatic minute metastasis with (32)p-chromic phosphate during an operation.

Aims: The aim of this work was to study the effectiveness of (32)P-chromic phosphate colloids ((32)P-CP), by stromal injection during cardiac-esophageal carcinoma resection, in the prevention and treatment of minute lymphatic metastasis.

Methods: A multipointed infiltrative injection was done on 91 patients with clinically diagnosed cardiac-esophageal carcinoma to the adipose connective tissues of the corresponding bed of the resected lesion or retroperitonial wall, or tissues neighboring the left gastric artery, abdominal aorta, fenestra of aortic arch, pulmonary hilum, and superior mediastinum following the resection of a tumor. For patients with nonresectable lesions, a multipointed superficial injection of (32)P-CP-diluted solution was administered to the tumor and its surrounding invaded tissue, gastric artery, and the mediastinal adipose connective tissue.

[Expression and significance of CD44v6, bcl-2, and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in endometrial adenocarcinoma].

Background & Objective: The pathogenesis of endometrial carcinoma has not been clear yet. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of expression of CD44v6, bcl-2, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) on oncogenesis and progression in endometrial carcinoma.

Methods: The expression levels of CD44v6, bcl-2, and VEGF were determined using immunohistochemistry in 55 cases with endometrial adenocarcinoma, 10 cases each of normal proliferative endometrium, simple hyperplasia, and atypical hyperplasia, respectively.

Objective: To explore the influence of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) on the pregnant women.

Method: 465 women in pregnancy were studied by random. The snoring rate, the relation with hyper blood pressure and preeclamptism, and the influence on infant were observed.
