Purpose: Using a fully automated multitask deep learning method, which enabled simultaneous segmentation and quantification of all major anterior segment structures with swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT), we aimed to investigate the three-dimensional (3D) alterations in iris morphology before and after implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery.
Methods: All enrolled patients underwent anterior segment SS-OCT (ANTERION) within one week before and after ICL surgery. A multitask network automatically performed iris SS-OCT image segmentation and quantitative measurements of 3D iris morphology (iris thickness and volume of the inner 1-mm annular area and the outer 1-2-mm annular area, iris curvature [I-Curve], and iris smooth index [SI]).

This study systematically evaluated the toxic effects of fluconazole on the cardiovascular development of zebrafish. Zebrafish embryos were treated with different concentrations of fluconazole (200, 400, and 800 μg/ml) to observe its impact on heart development, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, apoptosis, and hemoglobin production. The results showed that as the concentration of fluconazole increased, significant changes in zebrafish heart structure were observed, along with a notable reduction in heart rate.

Purpose Of The Review: In recent years, Berger's space (BS), the potential space between the posterior lens capsule and the anterior hyaloid membrane, has received little attention from the ophthalmic clinical community. This is primarily due to the limited documentation, with only a few isolated case reports detailing foreign bodies in this area.
Recent Findings: Recent advances in medical imaging technology have enabled the visualization of the BS under various circumstances.

The prognosis of patients with liver failure (LF) depends significantly on the etiology and clinical indicators. This analysis of these basic indicators can help provide a basis for the study of predictive outcome indicators. We collected the data from multiple centers in Southeast China, including subclasses of acute liver failure (ALF), subacute liver failure (SLF), acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), subacute-on-chronic liver failure (SALF), and chronic liver failure (CLF).

This paper introduces a comprehensive dataset of spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) images of human eyes affected by paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM). Acquired with an SD-OCT device (Optovue, Fremont, California, USA), the dataset includes 133 OCT images of lesions. Each image is paired with a corresponding YOLO label in TXT format, representing manually annotated lesion regions of PAMM, created with the assistance of ophthalmologists.

Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) encompasses damage to nerves located outside the central nervous system, adversely affecting both motor and sensory functions. Although peripheral nerves possess an intrinsic capacity for self-repair, severe injuries frequently result in significant tissue loss and erroneous axonal junctions, thereby impeding complete recovery and potentially causing neuropathic pain. Various therapeutic strategies, including surgical interventions, biomaterials, and pharmacological agents, have been developed to enhance nerve repair processes.

Retinal vasculature is the only vascular system in the human body that can be observed in a non-invasive manner, with a phenotype associated with a wide range of ocular, cerebral, and cardiovascular diseases. OCT and OCT angiography (OCTA) provide powerful imaging methods to visualize the three-dimensional morphological and functional information of the retina. In this study, based on OCT and OCTA multimodal inputs, a multitask convolutional neural network model was built to realize 3D segmentation of retinal blood vessels and disease classification for different retinal diseases, overcoming the limitations of existing methods that can only perform 2D analysis of OCTA.

Background: Respiratory depression is a common complication during operative procedures, meanwhile, ciprofol can provide effective sedation for surgical operations. However, there is not enough evidence to prove the advantage of ciprofol in reducing respiratory depression. So, this meta-analysis aimed to assess the efficacy of ciprofol on the incidence of respiratory depression compared with propofol.

Flap endonuclease 1 (FEN1) is a structure-specific endonuclease that plays a critical role in the maintenance of genome integrity. In this work, we demonstrate a novel self-powered electrochemical FEN1 biosensor for potential applications in molecular diagnosis. Porous FeO nanoparticles are first prepared, and single-strand DNA probes are absorbed on the surface of the nanoparticles.

Emerging data have revealed that damage to tubular epithelial cell is a driving force in the progression of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). However, the specific mechanisms by which lipotoxicity contributes to the injury of these cells, thereby influencing the development of DKD, are yet to be fully understood. Here, we analyzed the GSE 30529 microarray datasets of human tubulointerstitial tissue samples from the Gene Expression Omnibus database (GEO).

Prostate cancer lineage plasticity is a key driver in the transition to neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC), and the RTK/RAS signaling pathway is a well-established cancer pathway. Nevertheless, the comprehensive link between the RTK/RAS signaling pathway and lineage plasticity has received limited investigation. In particular, the intricate regulatory network governing the interplay between RTK/RAS and lineage plasticity remains largely unexplored.

Patients with pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) often experience neuropsychiatric disorders due to factors such as hormonal imbalances, and inadequate management of medications, surgeries, and radiation therapies. Commonly observed disorders include depression, anxiety, and cognitive dysfunction, which significantly impact patients' quality of life and prognosis. PitNETs have a significant presence of immune cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME), predominantly macrophages and T lymphocytes.

Peripheral nerve injury disease is a prevalent traumatic condition in current medical practice. Despite the present treatment approaches, encompassing surgical sutures, autologous nerve or allograft nerve transplantation, tissue engineering techniques, and others, an effective clinical treatment method still needs to be discovered. Exploring novel treatment methods to improve peripheral nerve regeneration requires more effort in investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common chronic liver diseases worldwide. In recent years, a new terminology and definition of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has been proposed. Compared to the NAFLD definition, MAFLD better emphasizes the pathogenic role of metabolic dysfunction in the development and progression of this highly prevalent condition.

Background: Given the intricate molecular complexities and heterogeneity inherent in T-cell immunotherapy of gastric cancer (GC), elucidative T-cell-related biomarkers were imperative needed for facilitating the prediction of GC patient prognosis and identify potential synergistic therapeutic targets.
Methods: We conducted COX regression analysis in TISIDB, TCGA-STAD, and GEO databases to identify 19 GC T-cell-mediated sensitivity tumor killing (TTK) genes (key GCTTKs). Based on key GCTTKs, we constructed two TTK patterns and analyzed their metabolic pathways, mutation features, clinical data distribution, immune cell infiltration, and prognosis.

YTHDF1, an N6‑methyladenosine (m6A)‑binding protein, is significantly upregulated in glioma tissues. The present study investigated the molecular mechanism underlying the regulatory effects of YTHDF1 on the viability, invasion and self‑renewal of glioma stem cells (GSCs). Glioma and normal brain tissues were collected, and reverse transcription‑quantitative PCR and western blotting were used to measure the gene and protein expression levels, respectively.
