Background: Data about the safety of ACEI/ARB use in early (<3 months) posttransplant period are restricted and remain controversial.
Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis included searches of PubMed, Embase and CENTRAL from inception to 31 November 2023, for studies to compare the safety (transplant outcomes and postoperative complications) of ACEI/ARB with non-ACEI/ARB (other antihypertensive medications) initiation in early post kidney transplant period.
Results: Of 1,247 citations identified, 13 eligible studies involving 1919 patients were enrolled for analyses.

Background: Preoperative risk assessment of clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula (CR-POPF) is still lacking. This study aimed to develop and validate a combined model based on radiomics, pancreatic duct diameter, and body composition analysis for the prediction of CR-POPF in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD).
Methods: Multivariable logistic regression was used to construct a combined model in conjunction with radiomics score (Rad-score), pancreatic duct diameter, and visceral fat area/total abdominal muscle area index (VFA/TAMAI).

Ischemic stroke rapidly increases the expression level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which promotes neovascularization during hypoxia. However, the effect and mechanism of VEGF intervention on cerebrovascular formation remain unclear. Therefore, our research discussed the protective effect of exogenous VEGF on cells in hypoxia environment in cerebral microvascular endothelial cells, simulating ischemic stroke in hypoxic environment.

Background: Early rebleeding is a significant complication of endoscopic treatment for esophagogastric variceal hemorrhage (EGVH). However, a reliable predictive model is currently lacking.
Aims: To identify risk factors for rebleeding within 6 weeks and establish a nomogram for predicting early rebleeding after endoscopic treatment of EVGH.

Background: The objective is to create an IRGPI (Immune-related genes prognostic index), which could predict the survival and effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) treatment for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD).
Methods: By applying weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), we ascertained 13 genes associated with immune functions. An IRGPI was constructed using four genes through multicox regression, and its validity was assessed in the GEO dataset.

Background: Based on evidence from existing observational research, clarifying the causal relationship between gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is challenging. Here, Mendelian randomisation, a method based on genetics, was used to provide new evidence for causality.
Methods: Summary statistics from two publicly available genome-wide association studies were used to evaluate the causal relationship between GORD and OSA (the GORD database was used as an exposure variable and the OSA database as an outcome).

Background: Numerous studies have shown that the aging microenvironment played a huge impact on tumor progression. However, the clinical prognostic value of aging-related risk signatures and their effects on the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains largely unclear. This study aimed to identify novel prognostic signatures based on aging-related genes (AGs) and reveal the landscape of the TIME in HNSCC.

Background: Chemotherapy can induce premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). POI causes multiple sequelae and is currently incurable. As shown in our previous studies, systemically transplanted human amnion-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hAD-MSCs) home to ovaries with chemotherapy-induced POI and subsequently reduce ovarian injury and improve ovarian function in rats with POI.
