Cervical cancer (CC) is considered to be the most prevalent female malignancies across the globe and a prime cause of mortality among women. RNA-binding motif protein 15 (RBM15) has been elucidated to participate in tumorigenesis in various cancers by regulating RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation. However, its significance and detailed molecular mechanisms remain uncertain in CC.

Background: Sarcoma is a rare and aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis, in which oncogene activation and tumor suppressor inactivation are involved. Accumulated studies suggested basic leucine zipper transcription factor ATF-like 2 (BATF2) as a candidate tumor suppressor, but its specific role and mechanism in sarcoma remain unclear.
Methods: The expression levels of BATF2 and miR-939-3p were evaluated by using human sarcoma samples, cell lines and xenograft mouse models.

Background: Mechanical ventilation (MV) sustains life in critically ill patients by providing adequate alveolar ventilation. However, prolonged MV could induce inspiratory muscle atrophy known as ventilator-induced diaphragmatic dysfunction (VIDD). Insulin-like growth factor () has been proven to play crucial roles in regulating skeletal muscle size and function.

Natural killer (NK) cells constitute an active and potent anti-tumor effector population against multiple malignancies. NK cells exploit tumoricidal machinery to restrain colorectal carcinoma (CRC) expansion and invasion. Nonetheless, it is becoming increasingly evident that functional exhaustion considerably compromises the potency of NK cells in patients with CRC.

Paeonol (2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenylacetophenone) is a natural phenolic component isolated from the root bark of peony with multiple pharmacological activities and has been proven to have anti-cancer effects. The objective of this study is to investigate the influence mechanism of paeonol on the proliferatory and apoptotic activities of ovarian cancer (OC) cells by modulating the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β)/Smad3 pathway. The SKOV3 cells were pretreated with various concentrations of paeonol (0, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 μg/mL) for 48 hours to determine the optimal experimental concentration of paeonol.

Objective: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is listed by the World Health Organization as one of the modern intractable diseases. High mobility histone box 1 (HMGB1), originally described as a non-histone nucleoprotein involved in transcriptional regulation, was later identified as a pro-inflammatory cytokine that may contribute to the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases such as IBD. Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) play an important role in the pathophysiology of IBD The aim of this study was to investigate the role of HMGB1 in experimental colitis mice and its potential mechanisms of action.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressively debilitating neurodegenerative condition primarily affecting the elderly. Emerging research suggests that microRNAs (miRNAs) play a role in the development of AD. This study investigates the impact of miR-107-5p on neurological damage, oxidative stress, and immune responses in AD.

Purpose: Microvascular invasion (MVI) is a critical factor in predicting the recurrence and prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after liver transplantation (LT). However, there is a lack of reliable preoperative predictors for MVI. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential of an F-FDG PET/CT-based nomogram in predicting MVI before LT for HCC.

Single-cell transcriptomics analysis is an advanced technology that can describe the intracellular transcriptome in complex tissues. It profiles and analyses datasets by single-cell RNA sequencing. Neurodegenerative diseases are identified by the abnormal apoptosis of neurons in the brain with few or no effective therapy strategies at present, which has been a growing healthcare concern and brought a great burden to society.

Marjolin's ulcer is described as malignant lesions developed in the injured skin, which can cause several kinds of malignancies. Our results showed that no HER2 but p53 was detected in Majorlin's ulcer samples. Meanwhile, by statistical analysis, we found that the positive rate of p53 in Majorlin's ulcer samples was associated with the pathological type of ulcer canceration and degree of tumor differentiation.

Calcific aortic valve stenosis (CAVS) is associated with an increased risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) in observational studies, but whether these associations are causal has not been determined. This study aimed to explore the potential causal relationship between CAVS and AF via Mendelian randomization (MR). Genetic variants from the genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data of the European population for CAVS were used to investigate the association with AF.

A suitable exercise program helps to improve physiological performance and improves aerobic capacity, blood absorption, and sufficient oxygen for the brain and muscles. This study investigated the effect of endurance training and adenosine drug injection on the MCP-1 gene after cerebral ischemia and perfusion in male rats. For this purpose, 48 male Wistar rats were selected, and after ischemic induction, they were placed in endurance training/adenosine/ischemia, ischemia/adenosine, endurance training/ischemia, and control/ischemia groups.

Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1α) is a therapeutic target in lung cancer, and the deacetylase sirtuin 3 (SIRT3) is closely associated with tumorigenesis. Formyl peptide receptor 1 (FPR1) is involved in a wide range of physiopathological processes in various tumor cells. We explored whether SIRT3 affects the development of lung cancer by regulating the reactive oxygen species (ROS)-FPR1/HIF-1α axis under hypoxic conditions.

Wound healing is a dynamic and highly sequential process involving a series of overlapping spatial and temporal phases, including hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and tissue remodeling. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stem cells with self-renewal, multidirectional differentiation potential, and paracrine regulation. Exosomes are subcellular vesicular components 30-150 nm in size and are novel carriers of intercellular communication in regulating the biological behaviors of skin cells.
