Cisplatin, a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent, can be used to treat cervical cancer (CC), but cisplatin resistance is increased during the cisplatin treatment. Long non-coding RNA PGM5-AS1 reportedly participates in CC tumorigenesis; however, its role in CC patients with cisplatin resistance has not been revealed. The present aimed to examine the role of PGM5-AS1 in modulating cisplatin resistance in CC.

Background: Maternal ambient fine particulate matter (PM) has been linked with fetal low birthweight (LBW), while national causal evidence is limited, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
Methods: We used nationwide registry-based birth records of 3839531 singleton livebirths, with maternal age (MA) between 15 and 49 years, across 31 provinces in Iran from 2013 through 2018. Monthly gridded concentrations of ambient PM during entire pregnancy were estimated through validated spatiotemporal models.

High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) has the capability of activating the immune response and taking part in macrophage polarization. Despite this, there is significant scope for exploration into how HMGB1 regulates macrophage polarization phenotype and influences intestinal epithelial barrier function. Investigating the role of HMGB1 in the creation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) and the mechanism of its impact on macrophages could provide novel insights into intervening in intestinal inflammation and barrier damage.

Conservative management for hypertrophic scars (HSc) and scar contractures is of utmost importance to optimally reintegrate burn survivors into society. Many conservative treatment interventions have been described in the literature for the management of HSc. Recent advancements in the literature pertaining to post-burn scarring and HSc formation, have advanced our understanding of the mechanisms that support or refute the use of common rehabilitation treatment modalities after burn injury.

Background: The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is a proven, reliable inflammatory marker of the atherosclerotic process. Additionally, inflammation is one of the most important mechanisms of heart failure (HF) after myocardial infarction (MI). However, it is not clear whether SII is related to the risk of in-hospital HF in patients with MI.

Background: Recent studies have shown that both metabolic syndrome and circadian rhythm syndrome are firmly associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular disease (CVD), with insulin resistance playing a significant role. The estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) is considered to be a reliable surrogate marker for insulin resistance. However, the relationship between eGDR and CVD under different metabolic and circadian rhythm states has not been thoroughly studied, and large-scale prospective cohort studies are needed to clarify this relationship.

Objective: To analyze the impact of using music therapy to improve the sleep quality and mental health of nurses who suffer from circadian rhythm sleep disorders.
Methods: Our retrospective analysis included 360 nurses with circadian rhythm sleep disorders from 20 different departments who worked in Wuhan Third Hospital for more than 1 year from May 2022 to May 2023. A total of 180 nurses with circadian rhythm sleep disorders were classified as the control group (received melatonin receptor agonist Melatonin Receptor Type 2 [MT2]).

Background: The long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC00969 is involved in human disease progression, and n6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification of lncRNAs in cancer has been proven to be a key regulatory mechanism. However, our understanding of its effects and mechanisms of action in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) remains limited.
Objectives: This study aimed to elucidate the role of methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3)-induced m6A modification of LINC00969 in PTC tumorigenesis.

Microangiogenesis is an important prognostic factor in various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) has been shown to contribute to tumor angiogenesis. Recently, several studies have investigated the regulation of VEGF production by a single gene, with few researchers exploring all genes that affect VEGF production.

Objective: The objective of this study was to examine the potential of USP7 as a target for senolytic therapy and to investigate the molecular mechanism by which its inhibitor selectively induced apoptosis in senescent HDF and enhanced DFU wound healing.
Methods: Clinical samples of DFU were collected to detect the expression of USP7 and aging-related proteins using immunohistochemistry and Western blot. In addition, β-galactosidase staining, qPCR, flow cytometry, ROS and MMP kits, and Western blot were used to analyze the biological functions of P5091 on senescence, cycle, and apoptosis.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common cancers and the second most deadly cancer across the globe. Colorectal cancer stem cells (CCSCs) fuel CRC growth, metastasis, relapse, and chemoresistance. A complete understanding of the modulatory mechanisms of CCSC biology is essential for developing efficacious CRC treatment.

Natural killer (NK) cells inhibit colorectal carcinoma (CRC) initiation and progression through their tumoricidal activity. However, cumulative evidence suggests that NK cells become functionally exhausted in patients with CRC. To deepen the understanding of the mechanisms underlying CRC-associated NK cell exhaustion, we explored the expression and effect of Sirtuin 2 (Sirt2) in mesenteric lymph node (mLN) NK cells in a murine colitis-associated CRC model.
