Background: The prevalence of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is on the rise globally, leading to adverse clinical outcomes. Our aim was to investigate the causal relationship between apolipoprotein and PAD, as well as the potential mediating role of smoking, diabetes, hypertension, myocardial infarction, and ischemic stroke.

Methods: We employed two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) to assess the causal effect of apoB/A1 on the risk of PAD and potential mediators (smoking, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, myocardial infarction, and ischemic stroke), as well as the causal effect of those mediators on PAD.

Effect of Jianpi Shengxue Tablet on Iron Metabolism and Nutritional Status in Patients with Renal Anemia: A Prospective, Randomized, Open, Parallel Controlled and Multicenter Clinical Study.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze the clinical efficacy of the Jianpi Shengxue tablet for treating renal anemia.

Methods: A total of 200 patients with renal anemia from December 2020 to December 2022 were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups. Patients in the control group were treated with polysaccharide-iron complex, and those in the experimental group were administered Jianpi Shengxue tablet.

Background: Drug resistance is the main cause of high mortality of lung cancer. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of folic acid (FA) on the resistance of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells to Osimertinib (OSM) by regulating the methylation of dual specificity phosphatase 1 (DUSP1).

Methods: The OSM resistant NSCLC cell line PC9R was establishd by gradually escalation of OSM concentration in PC9 cells.

To study the effect and mechanism of post-ischemic treatment of nalmefene in alleviating the lung ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting ferroptosis through activation of the Sirt 1/Nrf 2/HO-1 axis. A total of 60 rats were randomly divided into six groups equally (=10): the sham group, the model group(I/R), the nalmefene group, the nalmefene+EX527 group, the nalmefene+ML385 group, the nalmefene+Fe-citrate group (nalmefene+Fe group). The sham group without drug treatment was not treated with ischemia-reperfusion.

The impact of hospital-family integrated continuation nursing based on information technology on patients unhealthy mood, family function and sexual function after cervical cancer surgery.

The objective of this study was to explore the impact on hospital-family integrated continuation care based on information technology on the negative emotions, family function, and sexual function of patients after cervical cancer surgery. The clinical case data onto 114 postoperative cervical cancer patients who were nursing in our hospital from July 2019 to July 2021 were selected and were divided into a control group and an observation group. The control group used routine nursing care, and on this basis, the observation group used information technology as the basis for hospital-family integrated continuation care, and we observed and compared the differences in the 2 groups of patients bad mood, family function, and sexual function.

Objective: Cardiac remodeling is a common pathological change in various cardiovascular diseases and can ultimately result in heart failure. Background: Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. The disease has a poor prognosis, especially when the tumor becomes inoperable. The present study investigated the potential synergistic effects of oxaliplatin and metformin in gastric cancer cells.

Clinical Effect of the Treatment of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Protrusion.

Compared with traditional acupuncture, it is urgently needed for more effective method for the disease to serve the clinical treatment. This paper combines acupuncture and massage to treat lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, uses a controlled trial to study the clinical effects of acupuncture combined with massage for the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, combines mathematical statistics to test the data, and compares and analyzes the statistical object parameters. Through experimental research, it is known that in the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, in order to obtain a faster and better effect, traditional acupuncture treatment should be combined with massage therapy.

Effect of diltiazem on exercise tolerance in patients with stable coronary artery disease and hypertension.

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of diltiazem on cardiovascular risk and exercise tolerance in patients with stable coronary artery disease and hypertension. From 2016 to 2018, 80 patients with stable coronary artery disease (5 < Gensini score < 20) and hypertension were enrolled into the present study. These patients were randomly divided into two groups: diltiazem group (Dil, 90 mg, bid), and control group (angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI)/angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB) for reducing blood pressure and β-receptor blockers for controlling heart rate).

Background: Psychological status is a decisive factor for regulating the lung cancer chemotherapy patients' levels of fatigue and hope. Using the PERMA (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment) framework. We aimed to explore the influences of the psychological intervention on the patients' negative emotion, cancer-related fatigue, and level of hope.

Correlation of heart rate and blood pressure variability as well as hs-CRP with the burden of stable coronary artery disease.

Background: The aim is to investigate the predictive value of heart rate variability (HRV), blood pressure variability (BPV), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in patients with stable coronary artery disease (SCAD) to assess whether these variables predict the Gensini score.

Methods: Five hundred and eighty-eight patients with SCAD were enrolled. Normal coronary angiography (102 patients) and healthy physical examination patients (104 patients) were enrolled as control group for HRV.

Anesthetic management of a patient with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy 2B:CARE-compliant case report and literature review.

Background: Limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs) belong to few neuromuscular disorders mainly involving pelvic and shoulder girdle muscles. Also, cardiac or pulmonary complications, increased rhabdomyolysis risk when exposed to volatile anesthetics and succinylcholine may increase anesthesia related risks. However, current reports about the anesthesia management of these patients are limited.

Reliability and Validity of Simplified Chinese STOP-BANG Questionnaire in Diagnosing and Screening Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome.

The main purpose of this study was to assess the reliability and validity of the simplified Chinese STOP-BANG Questionnaire (SBQ) as a diagnosing and screening tool for obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). Two hundred and ten patients with suspected OSAHS were recruited in this study. The simplified Chinese SBQ was completed twice before and after polysomnography (PSG) monitoring.

Swertiamarin ameliorates carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatic apoptosis blocking the PI3K/Akt pathway in rats.

Swertiamarin (STM) is an iridoid compound that is present in the genus. Here we investigated antiapoptotic effects of STM on carbon tetrachloride (CCl)-induced liver injury and its possible mechanisms. Adult male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into a control group, an STM 200 mg/kg group, a CCl group, a CCl+STM 100 mg/kg group, and a CCl+STM 200 mg/kg group.

Neonatal exposure to propofol affects interneuron development in the piriform cortex and causes neurobehavioral deficits in adult mice.

Rationale: Animal studies have shown that early postnatal propofol administration is involved in neurobehavioral alterations in adults. However, the underlying mechanism is not clear.

Methods: We used c-Fos immunohistochemistry to identify activated neurons in brain regions of neonatal mice under propofol exposure and performed behavioral tests to observe the long-term consequences.

Local Anesthetic Drug Inhibits Growth and Survival in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Through Suppressing PI3K/Akt/mTOR.

Background: Apart from the known anesthetic and antiarrhythmic effects, recent studies also highlight the anticancer activities of local anesthetics. In line with the findings, our work shows that ropivacaine, an amide-linked local anesthetic drug, targets chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) via inhibiting PI3K/Akt/mTOR.

Materials And Methods: The effects of ropivacaine in CML cell lines and primary stem or progenitor cells were investigated using apoptosis, proliferation and colony formation assays.
