As such, the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of saikosaponin D (SSD) administration on the apoptosis, autophagy, and morphological structure of the intestinal cells of Cajal (ICCs) in FD.

Meta-analysis of Shugan Jieyu Capsule for depression in patients with coronary heart disease.

Introduction: Shugan Jieyu Capsule (SGJYC) has been prescribed to treat primary and secondary depression; however, whether it can benefit depression of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SGJYC in treating depression in patients with CHD.

Patient Concerns: A total of 644 CHD patients with depression were selected from China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, China Biomedical Database, MEDLINE, the Cochrane library from their inceptions until June, 2021.

Effectiveness and electrophysiological mechanisms of focal vibration on upper limb motor dysfunction in patients with subacute stroke: A randomized controlled trial.

Upper limb motor dysfunction is a common complication after stroke, which has a negative impact on the daily life of the patients. Focal vibration (FV) has been used to improve upper limb motor function in acute and chronic stroke patients, but its application in subacute stroke patients has not been extensively explored. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the therapeutic effect of FV on upper limb motor function in subacute stroke patients and its underlying electrophysiological mechanism.

: To investigate the digital measurement method for the plate trajectory of dynamic anterior plate-screw system for quadrilateral plate (DAPSQ), and then design a third-generation DAPSQ plate that conforms to the needs of the Chinese population through collating a large sample anatomical data. : Firstly, the length of the pubic region, quadrilateral region, iliac region, and the total length of the DAPSQ trajectory were measured by a digital measurement approach in 22 complete pelvic specimens. Then, the results were compared with the direct measurement of pelvic specimens to verify the reliability of the digital measurement method.

[MiR-34a alleviates podocyte injury in mice with diabetic nephropathy by targeted downregulation of Notch signaling pathway].

Objective: To explore the effects of miR-34a on injury and apoptosis of podocytes in diabetic nephropathy (DN) and the role of Notch signaling pathway in mediating its effects.

Methods: The expression of miR-34a in podocytes exposed to high glucose (30 mmol/L) was detected using RT-PCR. A podocyte line with miR-34a overexpression was constructed, and the miRNA-target relationship between miR-34a and Notch 1 was verified with luciferase assay.

The independent associations of extreme temperature and ambient air pollutant with the admission to hospital and mortality of ischemic stroke have been widely investigated. However, knowledge about the modification effects of variation in season and temperature on the association between exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO) and ischemic stroke onset is still limited. This study purposed to explore the effect of NO on daily ischemic stroke onset modified by season and ambient temperature, and identify the potential population that susceptible to ischemic stroke onset connected with NO and ambient temperature.

Anticancer drugs-related QTc prolongation, torsade de pointes and sudden death: current evidence and future research perspectives.

Anticancer drugs may have proarrhythmic effects including drug-induced QT interval prolongation, which is of particular importance because it can lead to a fatal polymorphic ventricular tachycardia termed torsade de pointes (TdP). QT interval prolongation and TdP are rare life-threatening untoward effects of anticancer therapy, particularly with arsenic trioxides and anthracyclines, and even some novel molecular targeted drugs touted as 'tumor specific'. Several factors that affect myocardial repolarization can further increase the risk of TdP.
