Objective: Post-stroke depression (PSD) is one of the most common and severe neuropsychological sequelae after stroke. Using a prediction model composed of multiple predictors may be more beneficial than verifying the predictive performance of any single predictor. The primary objective of this study was to construct practical prediction tools for PSD at discharge utilizing a decision tree (DT) algorithm.

Psoriasis (PS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a long course and tendency to recur, the pathogenesis of which is not fully understood. This article aims to identify the key differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and microRNA (miRNAs) of PS, construct the core miRNA-mRNA regulatory network, and investigate the underlying molecular mechanism through integrated bioinformatics approaches. Two gene expression profile datasets and 2 miRNA expression profile datasets were downloaded from the gene expression omnibus (GEO) database and analyzed by GEO2R.

Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) represent the ectopic aggregations of immune cells arising during chronic inflammation or tumor progression. In cancer, TLS are often associated with beneficial clinical outcomes in patients undergoing immunotherapy, underscoring their prognostic and predictive significance. Mature TLS, characterized by germinal centers and areas of T-cell and B-cell aggregation, are considered primary locations for activating and maintaining both humoral and cellular anti-tumor immune effects.

Objective: To investigate the brain mechanism of non-correspondence between imaging presentations and clinical symptoms in cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) patients and to test the utility of brain imaging biomarkers for predicting prognosis of CSM.
Methods: Forty patients with CSM (22 mild-moderate CSM, 18 severe CSM) and 25 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited for rs-fMRI and cervical spinal cord diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) scans. DTI at the spinal cord (level C2/3) with fractional anisotropy (FA) and degree centrality (DC) were recorded.

Objective: This longitudinal study sought to explore the impact of cortisol and hope levels on Fear of Cancer Recurrence (FCR) and Quality of Life (QOL) in a cohort of 552 breast cancer patients from three centers in Wuhan City.
Method: A longitudinal study involving 552 breast cancer patients from three centers in Wuhan City utilized Chinese versions of the Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form (FoP-Q-SF), the Herth Hope Index (HHI), and the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B) scale. Cortisol levels were measured thrice daily, and data was collected longitudinally three times.

: Connexin 43 (Cx43) is involved in the transfer of small signaling molecules between neighboring cells, thereby exerting a major influence on the initiation and progression of tumorigenesis. However, there is a lack of systematic research on Cx43 expression and its predictive role in clinical diagnosis and prognosis in pan-cancer. : Several biological databases were used to evaluate the expression levels of GJA1 (encoding Cx43) and its diagnostic and prognostic significance in pan-cancer.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc). This study focuses on deciphering the role of microRNA (miR)-101a-3p in the neuronal injury of PD and its regulatory mechanism.
Methods: We constructed a mouse model of PD by intraperitoneal injection of 1-methyl 4-phenyl 1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyridine hydrochloride (MPTP), and used 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP+) to treat Neuro-2a cells to construct an PD model.

However, there is currently insufficient evidence in China to demonstrate the effectiveness of population-based CRC screening using fecal DNA based test. Here, a large-scale real-world study for CRC screening was implemented in Wuhan, Hubei province, China.

Background: Mutations in TP53 gene is considered a main driver of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). While TP53 mutations are the leading cause of p53 dysfunction, their occurrence rates may drop to approximately 10% in cohorts without hepatitis B virus and aflatoxin exposure. This observation suggests that the deactivation of wild-type p53 (p53) may be a critical factor in the majority of HCC cases.

The earlier identification of EGFR mutation status in lung adenocarcinoma patients is crucial for treatment decision-making. Radiomics, which involves high-throughput extraction of imaging features from medical images for quantitative analysis, can quantify tumor heterogeneity and assess tumor biology non-invasively. This field has gained attention from researchers in recent years.

Objective: Classical Cox proportional hazard models tend to overestimate the event probability in a competing risk setup. Due to the lack of quantitative evaluation of competitive risk data for colon cancer (CC), the present study aims to evaluate the probability of CC-specific death and construct a nomogram to quantify survival differences among CC patients.
Methods: Data on patients diagnosed with CC between 2010 and 2015 were collected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program (SEER) database.
