Meals served to children should not only satisfy hunger and taste preferences but also be nutritionally adequate. Nutrition in early childhood is critical, as children spend a significant portion of their day in kindergarten or preschool, making these settings key contributors to their overall dietary intake. With the rising prevalence of nutrition-related health conditions among children, early interventions are essential for developing and establishing lifelong healthy eating habits.

The Suzuki-Miyaura biaryl cross-coupling is the pivotal technology for carbon-carbon coupling in pharmaceutical, polymer, and agrochemical fields. A long-standing challenge has been the development of efficient precursors for the decarbonylative cross-coupling of amide bonds. Herein, we report a highly chemoselective palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of -mesyl amides for the synthesis of biaryls by a tandem N-C(O)/C-C bond activation with high selectivity for decarbonylative cleavage.

Background: The social environment is important to consider for effective promotion of movement behaviors like increased physical activity (PA) and reduced sedentary behavior (SB); yet, it is less often considered than individual and built environments. One way to advance social environment research is to develop system maps, an innovative, participatory, action-oriented research process that actively engages stakeholders to visualize system structures and explore how systems "work." The purpose of this research was to develop PA and SB system maps of the social environment embedded within the core/nuclear family system.

Bovine respiratory disease (BRD) causes significant economic losses in dairy calves. Induction of an early immune response via parenteral vaccination is complicated by the interference of colostral immunity. In this study, we investigated early immunization against selected conserved bacterial antigens.

This study investigated the technological parameters, microbiological, and functional properties of juice from Solaris grapes grown under conventional and organic farming systems to assess how these cultivation methods influence juice quality. The one-year study focused on key aspects such as the levels of health-promoting polyphenols, the presence of mycotoxins, and pesticide residues. Organic grapes showed greater bacterial and fungal diversity, with significant differences in dominant genera.

Dishonest behaviours such as tax evasion impose significant societal costs. Ex ante honesty oaths-commitments to honesty before action-have been proposed as interventions to counteract dishonest behaviour, but the heterogeneity in findings across operationalizations calls their effectiveness into question. We tested 21 honesty oaths (including a baseline oath)-proposed, evaluated and selected by 44 expert researchers-and a no-oath condition in a megastudy involving 21,506 UK and US participants from Prolific.

Sepsis remains a significant contributor to neonatal mortality worldwide. However, the nonspecific nature of sepsis symptoms in neonates often leads to the necessity of empirical treatment, placing a burden of ineffective treatment on patients. Furthermore, the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance is exacerbating the situation.

Heart failure (HF) is a growing concern, with significant implications for mortality, morbidity, and economic sustainability. Traditionally viewed primarily as a hemodynamic disorder, recent insights have redefined HF as a complex systemic syndrome, emphasizing the importance of understanding its multifaceted pathophysiology. Fluid overload and congestion are central features of HF, often leading to clinical deterioration and hospital admissions, with the role of the lymphatic system previously largely overlooked, partly due to diagnostic challenges and visualization difficulties.

Narcissism is a relatively stable personality trait, which is most accurately described by three facets: agentic, antagonistic, and neurotic. Existing studies support the central role of antagonistic narcissism and its role in explaining the process of fluctuation in narcissism. However, there is a lack of a suitable adjective-based measure of antagonistic narcissism, resulting in intensive longitudinal studies assessing only agentic and neurotic narcissism.

Background: Digital maturity can help primary care facilities enhance their processes, communication, and adaptability to change, thereby fostering trust and job involvement. This study aimed to examine the causal relationships between perceived environmental uncertainty, digital maturity, organizational trust, and job involvement among managers of primary care facilities in the UK. The researchers applied socio-technical theory to examine the consequences of technology implementation on work practices and utilized contingency theory to ensure long-term stability in primary care facilities.

The present study aimed to identify nutrients (UPLC-PDA-ESI-MS/MS, HPLC-RI method) and biological activities (antioxidant activity to reduce Fe and ABTS, pancreatic lipase inhibitory effect, α-amylase, and α-glucosidase, anti-bacterial) of 14 highbush blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) cultivars (Northern type) as well as a principal component analysis (PCA) to assess the variation of these properties in the context of biodiversity. Most of the cultivars in this research have been first presented in this paper.

Background: The article describes attitudes towards vaccinations in Poland in relation to issues such as voluntary versus compulsory vaccinations, the method of financing vaccinations, the method of organizing and carrying out vaccinations, the cognitive and educational aspect of vaccines (how to obtain knowledge about vaccines) and the preferred model of work and research on new vaccines. Taking into account these issues, the authors have created four ideal models of preferred vaccination policies: (a) the market model; (b) the state model; (c) the vaccine hesitancy model; and (d) the civic-social model. This perspective makes it possible to better understand and learn about the various motives behind the attitudes of anti-vaccination movements, as well as to notice cracks and divisions among vaccination supporters and their attitudes towards the financing and organization of vaccinations.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common chronic liver disorder marked by the buildup of triacylglycerols (TGs) in the liver. It includes a range of conditions, from simple steatosis to more severe forms like non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which can advance to fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. NAFLD's prevalence is rising globally, estimated between 10% and 50%.
