Introduction: This study developed a prognostic nomogram of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) for purpose of discussing independent risk factors for HL patients with Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database.

Methods: We collected data of HL patients from 2010 to 2015 from the SEER database and divided it into two cohorts: the training and the verification cohort. Then the univariate and the multivariate Cox regression analyses were conducted in the training, the verification as well as the total cohort, after which the intersection of variables with statistical significance was taken as independent risk factors to establish the nomogram.

Focal bacterial infections are often difficult to treat due to the rapid emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, high risk of relapse, and severe inflammation at local lesions. To address multidrug-resistant skin and soft tissue infections, a bacteria-absorbing sponge was prepared to involve a "trap-and-kill" mechanism. The system describes a guanidinium-rich lipopeptide functionalized lyotropic liquid-crystalline hydrogel with bicontinuous cubic networks.

Umbilical cord blood from singleton preterm infants was collected during delivery, and the concentration of LL37 was measured. C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell count (WBC), platelets (PLT), and mean platelet volume (MPV) were determined within 3 days after birth. The differences in LL37, CRP, WBC, PLT, and MPV levels between the two groups were compared.

Peripheral Blood Microbiome Analysis via Noninvasive Prenatal Testing Reveals the Complexity of Circulating Microbial Cell-Free DNA.

Microbiol Spectr

June 2022

Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Beijing Hospitalgrid.414350.7, National Center of Gerontology, Institute of Geriatric Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, China.

While circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is becoming a powerful marker for noninvasive identification of infectious pathogens in liquid biopsy specimens, a microbial cfDNA baseline in healthy individuals is urgently needed for the proper interpretation of microbial cfDNA sequencing results in clinical metagenomics. Because noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) shares many similarities with the sequencing protocol of metagenomics, we utilized the standard low-pass whole-genome-sequencing-based NIPT to establish a microbial cfDNA baseline in healthy people. Sequencing data from a total of 107,763 peripheral blood samples of healthy pregnant women undergoing NIPT screening were retrospectively collected and reanalyzed for microbiome DNA screening.

Introduction: Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) are a group of conditions that typically manifest early during the child's development with lifelong consequences. Early identification using efficient screening tools can positively modify the natural history of the disorder. ESSENCE Q is a simple questionnaire to detect ESSENCE (Early Symptomatic Syndromes Eliciting Neurodevelopmental Clinical Examinations to reflect the co-existence of NDDs in children less than five years).

JAMA Netw Open

May 2022

Department of Chinese Integrative Medicine, Women's Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

Importance: Acupoint hot compress during the early postpartum period may benefit patients after a vaginal delivery, but the evidence of this effect is limited.

Objective: To assess whether acupoint hot compress involving the abdominal, lumbosacral, and plantar regions could reduce the incidence of postpartum urinary retention, relieve postpartum uterine contraction pain, prevent emotional disorders, and promote lactation.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter randomized clinical trial was conducted at 12 hospitals in China.

Sonodynamics has emerged as a new potential therapy for breast cancer in recent years. However, GSH-mediated redox systems in cancer cells make them tolerable to oxidative stress-related therapy. Herein, in this study, with G6PD, the gatekeeper enzyme of the pentose phosphate pathway, as the regulative target, a self-assembled thermosensitive chitosan-pluronic hydrogel coloaded with ICG (sono-sensitive agent) and RRx-001 (IR@CPGel) was successfully prepared to enhance SDT through interference with redox homeostasis.

August 2022

Service de Génétique Médicale, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nantes, Nantes, France; Université de Nantes, Inserm UMR 1087 / CNRS UMR 6291, Institut du thorax, Nantes, France. Electronic address:

Purpose: SRRM2 encodes the SRm300 protein, a splicing factor of the SR-related protein family characterized by its serine- and arginine-enriched domains. It promotes interactions between messenger RNA and the spliceosome catalytic machinery. This gene, predicted to be highly intolerant to loss of function (LoF) and very conserved through evolution, has not been previously reported in constitutive human disease.
