Background: Daytime hysteroscopy requires anesthesia that offers rapid onset and clearance, with minimal respiratory and cardiovascular suppression. This study compared the effects of different doses of alfentanil combined with propofol target-controlled infusion (TCI) for such procedures.
Methods: We randomized 240 patients undergoing daytime hysteroscopy into three groups to receive alfentanil at doses of 5 μg/kg, 10 μg/kg, and 15 μg/kg, combined with propofol TCI.

Background: Childhood maltreatment (CM) is linked to long-term adverse health outcomes, including accelerated biological aging and cognitive decline. This study investigates the relationship between CM and various aging biomarkers: telomere length, facial aging, intrinsic epigenetic age acceleration (IEAA), GrimAge, HannumAge, PhenoAge, frailty index, and cognitive performance.
Methods: We conducted a Mendelian randomization (MR) study using published GWAS summary statistics.

Unlabelled: Vitamin E is associated with the regulation of lipid metabolism. Our previous study revealed an inverse relationship between birth weight and cord blood vitamin E levels, suggesting a potential link between vitamin E and fetal growth. The aim of this study was to determine the association between vitamin E with fetal growth and lipids.

Neuroinflammation has been considered involved in the process of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI). Transcription factors play a crucial role in regulating gene transcription and the expressions of specific proteins during the progression of various neurological diseases. Evidence showed that transcription factor nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 1 (NFE2L1, also known as Nrf1) possessed strong biological activities including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common pathological type of thyroid cancer (THCA) and shows a better prognosis than other types. However, further research is needed to determine the risk of PTC. We herein used the CIBERSORT algorithm to analyze the gene-expression profile obtained from TCGA, estimated the infiltration ratio of 22 immune cell types in tumor tissues and normal tissues, analyzed the differential expression of immune-related genes, and identified immune cells and immune-related genes related to clinical progress and prognosis.

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has caused continuous effects on the global public, especially for susceptible and vulnerable populations like pregnant women. COVID-19-related studies and publications have shown blowout development, making it challenging to identify development trends and hot areas by using traditional review methods for such massive data. Aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis to explore the status and hotspots of COVID-19 in obstetrics.

Background: Primary Carnitine Deficiency (PCD) is a potentially life-threatening autosomal recessive monogenic disorder arising from mutations in the organic cation transporter 2 (OCTN2) gene. Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a prevalent symptom associated with this condition, and episodes of metabolic disturbance may lead to sudden death. However, the pathogenic mechanism remains unclear.

Background: Chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 8 (CCR8) is a chemokine receptor selectively expressed on tumor-infiltrating regulatory T cells (Tregs). Strong immunosuppression mediated by CCR8 Tregs observed in breast and lung malignancies suggest for their functional significance in cancer therapy. To date, detailed characterization of tumor-infiltrating CCR8 Tregs cells in colorectal cancer (CRC) is limited.

Objective: The objective of this retrospective cohort study is to investigate the impact of monitoring serum estradiol (E2) levels before progesterone administration within hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on pregnancy outcomes in women undergoing frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET).
Methods: Analyzed HRT-FET cycles conducted at a reproductive center from 2017 to 2022. Serum E2 levels were measured prior to progesterone administration.

To explore the correlation between blastomere count variations "skip value" which extracted from by time-lapse technology (TLT) combined with artificial intelligence (AI) and morphological features of in vitro fertilization (IVF) embryo, and to test its feasibility in clinical applications. This study was a diagnostic experiment (AI reassessment of embryo transferred patients), a total of 6 545 embryos from 1 226 patients who underwent IVF at the Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from December 2020 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed, of which 2 869 embryos were attempted to cultured to blastocyst stage by TLT. The embryo dynamic map (EDM) was drawn by Embryo Viewer, a TLT recording software, based on embryo developmental kinetics.

Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a major cause of liver damage during hepatic resection, transplantation, and other surgical procedures, often leading to graft failure and liver dysfunction. Recent studies have identified ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, as a key contributor to IRI. In this study, we investigated the protective effects of Ticlopidine, a thienopyridine compound and platelet aggregation inhibitor, on hepatic IRI.

Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent form of cell death, distinct from apoptosis, necrosis, and autophagy, and is characterized by altered iron homeostasis, reduced defense against oxidative stress, and increased lipid peroxidation. Extensive research has demonstrated that ferroptosis plays a crucial role in the treatment of gynecological malignancies, offering new strategies for cancer prevention and therapy. However, chemotherapy resistance poses an urgent challenge, significantly hindering therapeutic efficacy.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common gastrointestinal malignancy with higher incidence and mortality rates in men compared to women, potentially due to the effects of estrogen signaling. There is substantial evidence supporting the significant role of 17β-Estradiol (E2) in reducing CRC risk in females, although this perspective remains debated. E2 has been demonstrated to inhibit CRC cell proliferation and migration at the cellular level by enhancing DNA mismatch repair, modulating key gene expression, triggering cell cycle arrest, and reducing activity of migration factors.

Preterm birth (PTB) is a leading cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality worldwide, yet the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving this condition remain undeciphered, thus limiting discovery of new therapies. In-depth analyses of human and mouse tissues associated with PTB, in combination with cellular studies, indicated that aberrantly high-expressed neutrophil cytoplasmic factor (NCF) 1 leads to oxidative distress, recruitment, and pro-inflammatory activation of neutrophils and macrophages, while sequentially overexpressed pro-inflammatory mediators induce contractions of uterine smooth muscle cells (USMCs) as well as apoptosis of USMCs and amniotic epithelial cells, thereby causing PTB. According to these new findings, we rationally engineered an amphiphilic macromolecular conjugate LPA by covalently integrating low-molecular-weight heparin, a reactive oxygen species-responsive/scavenging component, and an anti-inflammatory peptide.

The widespread application of nanoparticles (NPs) in various fields has raised health concerns, especially in reproductive health. Our research has shown zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) exhibit the most significant toxicity to pre-implantation embryos in mice compared to other common NPs. In patients undergoing assisted reproduction technology (ART), a significant negative correlation was observed between Zn concentration and clinical outcomes.
