Objective: We here investigated whether lactation during puerperium could help to reverse the diabetogenic effect of gestation and further explored the lipid profiling changes upon breastfeeding.
Methods: Thirty-five women diagnosed with GDM were recruited, and fasting plasma samples were collected at ~6 weeks postpartum. Maternal metabolic parameters were determined, and an untargeted lipidomic analysis was performed.

Objectives: Expanded carrier screening (ECS) is a preventive genetic test that enables couples to know their risk of having a child affected by certain monogenetic diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the carrier frequency for rare monogenic diseases in the general Chinese population and the impacts of ECS on their reproductive decisions and pregnancy outcomes.
Methods: This single-center study was conducted between September 2022 and April 2023.

Objective: Does an association exist between diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) and embryonic aneuploidy risk in young women of reproductive age?
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 854 participants treated in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Women's Hospital of Nanjing Medicine University, Nanjing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital, from May 2016 to September 2023 for a total of 894 cycles. The relationship between ovarian reserve and embryonic euploidy was evaluated using statistical methods such as generalized estimating equation (GEE) and propensity score matching (PSM).
Results: Despite the higher number of biopsied blastocysts in women with normal ovarian reserve, no significant difference in embryonic aneuploidy rates was observed between DOR women and the control group.

Background: A single dose of epidural hydromorphone has been suggested as an alternative method for providing analgesia after caesarean section (CS). Nevertheless, the optimal dosage of epidural hydromorphone for postoperative pain relief following CS has yet to be determined.
Methods: This trial included 30 singleton primiparous women undergoing scheduled caesarean delivery, who were recruited to determine doses of epidural hydromorphone using the modified Dixon sequential method.

Background: Perinatal depression has become a global public health issue with a high prevalence rate. Multiple studies have confirmed the effectiveness of music intervention. Still, the current form of offline intervention ignores issues such as convenient transportation and the stigma of diseases that pregnant women are concerned about, resulting in poor adherence.

To evaluate whether the interval between oocyte retrieval and frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) affects clinical outcomes using modified natural cycle (mNC) regimen following freeze-all GnRH antagonist stimulation. A total of 542 patients underwent first mNC-FET were divided into two groups: immediate (FET conducted in the first menstrual cycle after freeze-all) and delayed (FET performed in the second or subsequent menstrual cycle) groups. The immediate group was associated with a notably reduced duration between oocyte retrieval and transfer day (35.

Background And Aims: Skeletal muscle density (SMD) is a valuable prognostic indicator in various conditions such as cancer, liver cirrhosis. Yet, the connection between SMD and intra-abdominal infection in individuals who have suffered abdominal injuries is still unclear. The purpose of this research is to examine how well SMD can predict intra-abdominal infection in patients who have suffered abdominal trauma.

Background: The development of the zebrafish visual system is significantly influenced by exposure to monochromatic light, yet investigations into its effects during juvenile stages are lacking. This study evaluated the impacts of varying intensities and durations of red and blue monochromatic light on the visual system and dopamine pathways in juvenile zebrafish.
Methods: Juvenile zebrafish were exposed to red (650 nm) and blue (440 nm, 460 nm) monochromatic lights over four days at intensities ranging from 500 to 10,000 lx, for durations of 6, 10, and 14 h daily.

Ovarian cancer is a prevalent gynecologic malignancy with the second-highest mortality rate among gynecologic malignancies. Platinum-based chemotherapy is the first-line treatment for ovarian cancer; however, a majority of patients with ovarian cancer experience relapse and develop platinum resistance following initial treatment. Despite extensive research on the mechanisms of platinum resistance at the nuclear level, the issue of platinum resistance in ovarian cancer remains largely unresolved.

Background: It was reported that more than 96% of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children are accompanied with different degrees of sensory processing abnormalities, and up to 50% of ASD children exhibit abnormal auditory response. Studies have confirmed that some ASD children's abnormal auditory response may be related to their abnormal auditory processing. Prior research demonstrated that ASD children's auditory processing has high heterogeneity, thus, ASD children's auditory processing may have different developmental trajectories.

Objective: The hippocampus and amygdala, as important components of the limbic system, play crucial roles in central remodeling in congenital hearing loss. This study aimed to investigate the morphological integrity and network properties of the subfields of hippocampus and amygdala in children with congenital hearing loss.
Methods: A total of 24 children with congenital hearing loss and 17 age- and sex- matched healthy controls (HC) are included in the study.

The immune checkpoint receptor, programmed cell death 1 (PD-1, encoded by PDCD1), mediates the immune escape of cancer, but whether PD-1 splicing isoforms contribute to this process is still unclear. Here, we identify an alternative splicing isoform of human PD-1, which carries a 28-base pairs extension retained from 5' region of intron 2 (PD-1^28), is expressed in peripheral T cells and tumor infiltrating lymphocytes. PD-1^28 expression is induced on T cells upon activation and is regulated by an RNA binding protein, TAF15.

Objective: The Composite Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) measures the antioxidant capacity of the diet, which is believed to provide protection against various diseases, including depression, osteoporosis, and papillomavirus infection, by neutralizing harmful oxidative stress. However, the relationship between CDAI and infertility is not well understood. This research aims to explore the potential correlations between CDAI and the risk of infertility.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common metabolic disorder and reproductive endocrine disease, posing an elevated risk to women of reproductive age. Although metabolism differences in serum, amniotic fluid and urine have been documented in PCOS, there remains a paucity of evidence for vaginal fluid. This study aimed to identify the metabolic characteristics and potential biomarkers of PCOS in Chinese women of reproductive age.

Objective: Perinatal depression has become a global public health problem, which not only harms the health of mothers and their offspring, but also increases the socio-economic burden, so early intervention is urgent. Music intervention is a low-cost and safe intervention method. This study endeavored to systematically integrate and quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of music intervention for perinatal depression.
