Background: Chlamydia trachomatis genital infection is one of the most common sexually transmitted bacterial infections with severe detrimental effects on pregnant women and fetuses. CTGI increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy, exogenous fetal infection, and respiratory complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia. According to the different published reports, this systematic review and meta-analysis study aimed to evaluate the global prevalence of CTGI in pregnant women.

Importance: As US health care systems shift to human papillomavirus (HPV)-based cervical cancer screening, more patients are receiving positive high-risk non-16/18 genotype HPV results and negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy (NILM) cytological findings. Risk-based management guidelines recommend 2 consecutive negative annual results to return to routine screening.
Objective: To quantify patterns of surveillance testing and associated outcomes for patients after an HPV-positive results and NILM cytologic findings.

Importance: Opioid use disorder (OUD) impacts millions of people worldwide. Prior studies investigating its underpinning neural mechanisms have not often considered how brain signals evolve over time, so it remains unclear whether brain dynamics are altered in OUD and have subsequent behavioral implications.
Objective: To characterize brain dynamic alterations and their association with cognitive control in individuals with OUD.

Black women are more likely to experience traumatic birthing events, more likely to experience perinatal depression, and less likely to receive mental health treatment than women of other racial and ethnic backgrounds, and yet largely overlooked in perinatal mental health research. This pilot study seeks to understand how unacceptable racial disparities and adverse perinatal outcomes influence Black maternal depression and maternal bonding by exploring how prior traumatic loss moderates the relationship between depression and bonding during a subsequent pregnancy among a sample of Black mothers. We use survey data collected from 75 Black mothers as part of the Black Fathers, Equal Partners in Promoting Maternal and Infant Health study, a collaboration between the University of Wisconsin Madison and the African American Breastfeeding Network in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) is a rare, non-atherosclerotic vascular disease affecting medium to large arteries, especially the renal and internal carotid arteries (ICAs). The string-of-beads appearance, indicative of alternating areas of stenosis and dilatation, is a key imaging feature typically observed in the distal ICAs. Diagnosing FMD in critically ill patients poses challenges due to the risks associated with traditional imaging methods such as computed tomography angiography (CTA), magnetic resonance angiography, and digital subtraction angiography.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Pregnancy and delivery are commonly associated with ano-rectal dysfunction. In addition, vaginal delivery may impact both the structure and functionality of the pelvic floor. Herein, we systematically reviewed the literature for the potential association between levator ani muscle (LAM) avulsion and ano-rectal function after childbirth.

Background: Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is an important differential diagnosis in unexplained syncope. Neurogenic OH (nOH) has been postulated to differ from non-neurogenic OH (non-nOH), yet pathophysiological differences are largely unexplored. We aimed to investigate etiology and tilt table test (TTT)-induced hemodynamic responses in symptomatic OH patients.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as a glucose intolerance resulting in hyperglycaemia of variable severity with onset during pregnancy, and is prevalent worldwide. The study of diagnostic markers of GDM in early pregnancy is important for early diagnosis and early intervention of GDM. The aim of this study was to search for biomarkers of GDM in early and mid-pregnancy using a targeted proteomics approach.

Introduction: Women with first trimester fasting glycaemia (FTFG) 92-125 mg/dL may present with normal 24-28th week OGTT (2T-OGTT). Predictors of persistent hyperglycaemia were scarcely investigated. We studied the prevalence and predictors of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the 2T-OGTT in women with untreated elevated FTFG.

Objectives: To investigate the clinical value of fetal heart quantification (fetal HQ) in the evaluation of normal fetal heart size, morphology, and cardiac function at different gestational weeks.
Materials And Methods: A total of 101 pregnant women diagnosed with a healthy fetus by fetal echocardiography from September 2021 to December 2023 were selected and classified into four different periods of gestational weeks: 20-28 weeks (25 cases), 29-32 weeks (26 cases), 33-36 weeks (26 cases), and 37-40 weeks (24 cases). Quantitative analyses were performed by automatically tracking the endocardium using fetal HQ software that comes with the Voluson E10 from GE.

Objectives: Epithelial ovarian cancer is a significant contributor to cancer-related mortality in women, frequently recurring post-treatment, often accompanied by chemotherapy resistance. Dietary interventions have demonstrated influence on cancer progression; for instance, caloric restriction has exhibited tumor growth reduction and enhanced survival in animal cancer models. In this study, we calculated a transcriptomic signature based on caloric-restriction for ovarian cancer patients and explored its correlation with ovarian cancer progression.

Background: Previous studies have shown that higher uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) values in early pregnancy have predictive value for the risk of preeclampsia (PE). However, the sensitivity and specificity of this marker remain controversial. This study aims to explore further the association between UtA-PI in early pregnancy and the incidence of preeclampsia.

Background: Symptoms frequently associated with endometriosis affect quality of life (QoL). Our aim investigated the hypothesis that cluster analysis can be used to identify homogeneous phenotyping subgroups of women according to the burden of the endometriosis for their QoL, and then to investigate the phenotype differences observed between these subgroups.
Methods: We developed an anonymous online survey, which received responses from 1,586 French women with endometriosis.

Background: In May 2022, after the suspension of the mobility restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first outbreak of MPOX virus, transmitted from human to human, was detected outside of Africa, affecting mostly sexually active men who have sex with men. Our aim is to report the first outbreak of MPOX in Barcelona city in the period from 5/2022 to 5/2023 and the subsequent surge of cases in 8/2023.
Methods: We performed a descriptive study of all notified cases in city residents, obtained through epidemiological surveys.

Background: Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) is the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Accurate diagnosis of PPH can prevent adverse outcomes by enabling early treatment.
Objectives: What is the accuracy of methods (index tests) for diagnosing primary PPH (blood loss ≥ 500 mL in the first 24 hours after birth) and severe primary PPH (blood loss ≥ 1000 mL in the first 24 hours after birth) (target conditions) in women giving birth vaginally (participants) compared to weighed blood loss measurement or other objective measurements of blood loss (reference standards)?

Longitudinal patterns of engagement in care among women living with HIV (WHIV) during the perinatal period are poorly understood. We employed group-based trajectory modeling to (1) describe trajectories of HIV visit engagement; and (2) identify predictors of membership in suboptimal care trajectories. Data came from a prospective cohort study across five urban clinics in Lilongwe, Malawi conducted between February 2020 and August 2022.
