The prevalence of postpartum fatigue among primipara is high in China, which seriously affects women's subsequent physical and mental recovery. In order to deeply understand this phenomenon, domestic scholars began to conduct research on postpartum fatigue from the aspects of assessment tools and intervention measures. This study aims to investigate postpartum fatigue in primiparous women and its association with family functioning and social support, providing valuable insights for improving the condition in this population.

A successful therapeutic outcome in the treatment of solid tumours requires efficient intratumoural drug accumulation and retention. Here we demonstrate that zinc gluconate in oral supplements assembles with plasma proteins to form ZnO nanoparticles that selectively accumulate into papillary Caki-2 renal tumours and promote the recruitment of dendritic cells and cytotoxic CD8 T cells to tumour tissues. Renal tumour targeting is mediated by the preferential binding of zinc ions to metallothionein-1X proteins, which are constitutively overexpressed in Caki-2 renal tumour cells.

FHIT is a fragile site tumor suppressor that is primarily inactivated upon tobacco smoking. FHIT loss is frequently observed in lung cancer, making it an important biomarker for the development of targeted therapy for lung cancer. Here, we report that inhibitors of glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3β) and the homologous recombination DNA repair (HRR) pathway are synthetic lethal with FHIT loss in lung cancer.

The etiology of hypertrophic scar formation continues to elude researchers, despite advancements in the understanding of skin scarring. Several long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of hypertrophic scars, yet the role and molecular mechanisms of LINC00525 in this process remain unclear. This study demonstrates that LINC00525 enhances cell proliferation and collagen expression through knockdown and overexpression techniques.

Objective: This study aimed to analyse the causes of foetal mild-to-moderate isolated ventriculomegaly (IVM) and to evaluate the prognosis of neurological development in surviving children in different subgroups.
Methods: We retrospectively studied mild-to-moderate IVM diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound scans in different subgroups according to the laterality of IVM, the degree of IVM and foetal sex independently. The results of foetal chromosomal microarray analysis, virological tests of umbilical cord blood or amniotic fluid, foetal magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound were collected.

Background And Aims: Skeletal muscle density (SMD) is a valuable prognostic indicator in various conditions such as cancer, liver cirrhosis. Yet, the connection between SMD and intra-abdominal infection in individuals who have suffered abdominal injuries is still unclear. The purpose of this research is to examine how well SMD can predict intra-abdominal infection in patients who have suffered abdominal trauma.

Background: It was reported that more than 96% of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children are accompanied with different degrees of sensory processing abnormalities, and up to 50% of ASD children exhibit abnormal auditory response. Studies have confirmed that some ASD children's abnormal auditory response may be related to their abnormal auditory processing. Prior research demonstrated that ASD children's auditory processing has high heterogeneity, thus, ASD children's auditory processing may have different developmental trajectories.

The immune checkpoint receptor, programmed cell death 1 (PD-1, encoded by PDCD1), mediates the immune escape of cancer, but whether PD-1 splicing isoforms contribute to this process is still unclear. Here, we identify an alternative splicing isoform of human PD-1, which carries a 28-base pairs extension retained from 5' region of intron 2 (PD-1^28), is expressed in peripheral T cells and tumor infiltrating lymphocytes. PD-1^28 expression is induced on T cells upon activation and is regulated by an RNA binding protein, TAF15.

Background: There are multiple psychological symptoms in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology, which seriously affect health-related quality of life and even cause patients to stop treatment.
Aim: This study aimed to identify psychological symptom clusters and their influencing factors in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from June to November 2023 at the reproductive centers of Nanjing Women and Children's Healthcare Hospital.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the potential variance in the prevalence of early-onset scoliosis among children aged 4-7 years and analyze the influencing factors. The goal was to establish a crucial reference point for monitoring and evaluating spinal curvature development in preschoolers, ultimately to reduce the occurrence of adverse health outcomes.
Methods: Children aged 4-7 years within the main urban area of Nanjing were selected using a stratified random sampling method.

A substantive body of evidence has demonstrated the significant roles of circular RNA (circRNA) in cancer. However, the contribution of dysregulated circRNAs to ovarian cancer (OC) remains elusive. We aim to elucidate the critical roles and mechanisms of hsa_circ_0020093, which was demonstrated to be downregulated in OC tissues in our previous study.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of auditory processing (AP) in preschool children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) using the speech auditory brainstem response (speech-ABR), which provides insights into the AP of speech signals in the central auditory nervous system (CANS).
Method: A total of 84 preschool children diagnosed with ADHD, aged 4-6 years, were matched with 84 typically developing (TD) children based on gender and age. All children underwent speech-ABR testing, cognitive assessment using the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Fourth Edition or the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth Edition, and a continuous performance test.

Background: Language delay affects near- and long-term social communication and learning in toddlers, and, an increasing number of experts pay attention to it. The development of prosody discrimination is one of the earliest stages of language development in which key skills for later stages are mastered. Therefore, analyzing the relationship between brain discrimination of speech prosody and language abilities may provide an objective basis for the diagnosis and intervention of language delay.

The E3 ubiquitin ligase Tripartite-motif 3 (TRIM3) is known to play a crucial role in tumor suppression in various tumors through different mechanisms. However, its function and mechanism in ovarian cancer have yet to be elucidated. Our study aims to investigate the expression of TRIM3 in ovarian cancer and evaluate its role in the development of the disease.
