Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by persistent joint inflammation, damage, and loss of function. In recent years, the role of gut microbiota and its metabolites in immune regulation has attracted increasing attention. The gut microbiota influences the host immune system's homeostasis through various mechanisms, regulating the differentiation, function, and immune tolerance of immune cells.

Background: Paternal preconception alcohol exposure affects fetal development; however, it is largely unknown about the influences on offspring vasculature and mechanisms.

Methods: Offspring born form paternal rats treated with alcohol or water before pregnant was raised until 3 months of age. Vessel tone of mesenteric arteries was detected using myograph system; whole-cell calcium channel current in smooth muscle cells was tested using patch-clamp; molecule expressions were detected with real-time PCR, western blotting, and Dihydroethidium (DHE); DNA methylations were determined using targeted bisulfate sequencing assay.

Background: Physical inactivity is a global concern and poses serious health risks. Physical inactivity is exacerbated and affects the health of both generations during the special period of pregnancy. Appropriate physical activity (PA) intervention programmes based on health behaviour change theory are lacking.

Background: No prior study has examined the mutual association of long-term outdoor ozone (O) concentration and physical activity (PA) with emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) in children and adolescents. This study aims to investigate the association between long-term outdoor O concentration and the risk of EBPs in children and adolescents and further explore whether increased PA levels modify this association.

Methods: Data were obtained from the 2020 wave follow-up examination of an ongoing prospective cohort study (COHERENCE project) in Guangzhou, China.

Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) can negatively impact on pregnancy outcomes, leading to reduced pregnancy rates, secondary infertility, and an increased risk of pregnancy complications. Studies have shown that the application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in IUA patients is effective. However, the clinical readhesive rate of IUA after treatment is still high, especially in severe cases.

Methods: This study identified 821 patients in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. All patients were randomly divided in a ratio of 7:3 into a training cohort (n = 574) and a validation cohort (n = 247).

Methods: We analysed the data of 108,284 individuals with MetS obtained from the UK Biobank.

Advances in the application of ultrasonographic parameters for fluid management in obstetric anesthesia.

Ultrasound provides a valuable non-invasive approach for fluid management in obstetric anesthesia. Ultrasonographic parameters assist anesthesiologists to effectively assess the fluid status of parturients and reduce related complications. In addition to conventional parameters, which have been widely validated in clinical practice, we provide new insights into arterial parameters such as peak velocity, velocity-time integral, corrected flow time, and vein-related parameters, including the internal jugular vein and its collapsibility index, the inferior vena cava and its collapsibility index, as well as subclavian vein and its collapsibility index.

Administration of a diabetes-specific formula can improve postprandial glycemic control and delay insulin use in gestational diabetes mellitus: A randomized controlled trial from two centers.

Background And Aims: There have been limited studies on the application of a diabetes-specific formula in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), the role of which has not been well studied. We explored the effect of a diabetes-specific formula on blood glucose levels, insulin use and pregnancy outcomes in GDM patients.

Methods: In this randomized controlled study, 112 GDM patients were randomly assigned to the intervention group (56) and the control group (56).

Impact of perceived social support on anxiety and depression in women undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer: the role of psychological resilience.

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the current status of women's perception of social support levels, psychological resilience, anxiety, and depression levels during IVF-ET, as well as investigate the influence of perceived social support and psychological resilience on the anxiety and depression levels of women undergoing IVF-ET and the mediating role of psychological resilience in this process.

Methods: In this study, a convenience sampling method was used to administer a questionnaire survey among 433 women undergoing IVF-ET. Then, multivariate linear regression models were applied to identify factors influencing anxiety and depression.

Non-coding RNAs, a class of RNA molecules that do not encode proteins, participate in the development of various diseases.

Background: Stillbirth is a unique phenomenon with various manifestations influenced by cultural contexts and spiritual beliefs. Chinese cultural and spiritual practices produce different post-stillbirth grief experiences for bereaved mothers in China. However, the majority of research on perinatal loss and grief has been conducted in Western cultures.

Inhibition of FOXO3 ameliorates ropivacaine-induced nerve cell damage through the miR-126-5p/TRAF6 axis.

Local anesthetics, such as ropivacaine (Ropi), are toxic to nerve cells. We aimed to explore the role of forkhead box O3 (FOXO3) in Ropi-induced nerve injury to provide a theoretical basis for reducing the anesthetic neurotoxicity. SK-N-SH cells were cultured and treated with different concentrations of Ropi.

Differential diagnosis of non-molar gestational trophoblastic neoplasia with ectopic pregnancy by clinical-pathological features.

Purpose: This study was presented to investigate the clinical-pathological characteristics of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) following non-molar pregnancy and differentiated with ectopic pregnancy (EP).

Methods: The clinical data of 83 patients who were admitted for suspected GTN after non-molar pregnancy at the Women's Hospital School of Medicine Zhejiang University from January 2015 to September 2022 were selected for analysis.

Results: In total, 41 cases were confirmed non-molar GTN, including 31 choriocarcinoma, 9 PSTT (placental site trophoblastic tumor), and 1 ETT (epithelioid trophoblastic tumor), while 42 cases were confirmed EP.

Parental perceptions and experiences of kangaroo care for preterm infants in neonatal intensive care units in China: a qualitative study.

Background: kangaroo care (KC), endorsed by the World Health Organization, is an evidence-based intervention that plays a pivotal role in mitigating preterm infant mortality and morbidity. However, this intervention has not been fully integrated into healthcare systems in China. This study aimed to gain insight into parents' perceptions and experiences of KC for preterm infants to contribute to the KC implementation on a larger scale.

Healthcare providers' perceptions and experiences of kangaroo mother care for preterm infants in four neonatal intensive care units in China: a qualitative descriptive study.

Background: Kangaroo mother care (KMC) is an evidence-based intervention that can effectively reduce morbidity and mortality in preterm infants, but it has yet to be widely implemented in health systems in China. Most qualitative studies on KMC for preterm infants focused on the experiences and influencing factors from the perspective of preterm infant parents, while neglecting the perspective of healthcare providers, who played a critical role in guiding KMC practice. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the perceptions and experiences of healthcare providers regarding their involvement in KMC implementation for preterm infants to promote the contextualized implementation of KMC.
