Lateral patellar dislocations often occur in a young, athletic population of recurrent dislocators with generalized laxity and an interest in returning to an active lifestyle. A recent appreciation for the distal patellotibial complex has directed surgeons toward attempting to re-create the native anatomy and knee biomechanics during medial patellar reconstructive procedures. By reconstructing the medial patellotibial ligament (MPTL) in addition to the medial patella-femoral ligament (MPFL) and medial quadriceps tendon-femoral ligament (MQTFL), the current article describes a potentially more stable construct that can be utilized in patients with subluxation with the knee in full extension, patellar instability with the knee in deep flexion, genu recurvatum, and generalized hyperlaxity.

Vertebral augmentation has been a well-studied adjunct percutaneous procedure in spine surgery. Cement augmentation has been used in the treatment of compression fractures through kyphoplasties or vertebroplasties. Historically, data have shown no difference between treating compression fractures conservatively versus with percutaneous cement augmentation procedures.

Objectives: To report outcomes and re-dislocation rates of medial patellar stabilizers reconstruction without bone procedures for correction of anatomical risk factors for patellar instability in skeletally immature patients; to compare isolated medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction to combined MPFL and medial patellotibial ligament (MPTL) reconstruction in this population.
Methods: Patients with open physis and bone abnormalities including patella alta and/or increased tibial tubercle-trochlear groove (TT-TG) distance and/or trochlear dysplasia underwent MPFL reconstruction, either isolated or associated with MPTL reconstruction. Preoperative, 1-year follow-up and the latest follow-up (5 years minimum) data were collected.

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) represents a major health problem without effective treatments. As the incidence of the disease will continue to rise, it is imperative to find new treatment options to halt or slow disease progression. In recent years, several groups have begun to study the utility of low total dose radiation therapy (LTDRT) to inhibit some of the pathological features of AD and improve cognition in a variety of animal models.

The number of spinal procedures and spinal fusions continues to grow. Although fusion procedures have a high success rate, they have inherent risks such as pseudarthrosis and adjacent segment disease. New innovations in spine techniques have sought to eliminate these complications by preserving motion in the spinal column.

Introduction: Fewer than 10% of individuals who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) survive with good neurologic function. Bystander CPR more than doubles the chance of survival, and telecommunicator-CPR (T-CPR) during a 9-1-1 call substantially improves the frequency of bystander CPR.
Objective: We examined the barriers to initiation of T-CPR.

Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a guideline-recommended, multidisciplinary program of exercise training, risk factor management, and psychosocial counseling for people with cardiovascular disease (CVD) that is beneficial but underused and with substantial disparities in referral, access, and participation. The emergence of new virtual and remote delivery models has the potential to improve access to and participation in CR and ultimately improve outcomes for people with CVD. Although data suggest that new delivery models for CR have safety and efficacy similar to traditional in-person CR, questions remain regarding which participants are most likely to benefit from these models, how and where such programs should be delivered, and their effect on outcomes in diverse populations.
