Circadian rhythm disruption (CRD), stemming from sleep disorders and/or shift work, is a risk factor for reproductive dysfunction. CRD has been reported to disturb nocturnal melatonin signaling, which plays a crucial role in female reproduction as a circadian regulator and an antioxidant. The hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis regulates female reproduction, with luteinizing hormone (LH) pulse pattern playing a pivotal role in folliculogenesis and steroidogenesis.

Postpartum depression and postpartum depression with anxiety, which are highly prevalent and debilitating disorders, become a growing public concern. The high overlap on the symptomatic and neurobiological levels led to ongoing debates about their diagnostic and neurobiological uniqueness. Delineating the shared and disorder-specific intrinsic functional connectivities and their causal interactions is fundamental to precision diagnosis and treatment.

Radiation therapy was initially used in dermatology to treat various skin diseases, including acne vulgaris, keloids, plantar warts, tinea capitis and hirsutism. Although it is no longer used in the treatment of many of these diseases, radiation therapy still plays a crucial role in the treatment of keloids, skin cancer and solid organ malignancies. In the past 20 years, the widespread use of intensity-modulated radiation therapy has significantly increased in the management of tumor growth in multiple cancer sites and reduced the incidence of complications in normal organs.

Background: The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has emerged as a global health crisis, with clinical manifestations including those suggesting injury to various organs such as the ovaries, which implies that it extends beyond respiratory infections. Changes in gut microbiota may exhibit correlations with the mechanisms and stages of severity in COVID-19, as well as a link with sex hormones, embryo development, and pregnancy. Controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) is used to induce the development of multiple high-quality follicles during in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Gynecological tumors, primarily ovarian cancer (OC), cervical cancer (CC), and endometrial cancer (EC), have a significant global impact on women's health, characterized by high mortality rates. Emerging evidence underscores the pivotal role of altered glucose metabolism in the initiation and progression of these malignancies. Glucose metabolism, encompassing glycolysis, the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, and the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP), among others, is intricately governed by a spectrum of key enzymes.

Oxidative stress due to aberrant metabolism is considered as a crucial contributor to diabetes and its complications. Hyperglycemia and hyperlipemia boost excessive reactive oxygen species generation by elevated mitochondrial respiration, increased nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase activity, and enhanced pro-oxidative processes, including protein kinase C pathways, hexosamine, polyol, and advanced glycation endproducts, which exacerbate oxidative stress. Oxidative stress plays a significant role in the onset of diabetes and its associated complications by impairing insulin production, increasing insulin resistance, maintaining hyperglycemic memory, and inducing systemic inflammation.
