Correlation of serum H-FABP, sTREM-1, and HMGB1 levels with severity and prognosis of sepsis.

Objective: To investigate the correlation between serum levels of Heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP), Soluble Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells 1 (sTREM-1), and High mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) with disease severity, and their prognostic value in sepsis.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted using the clinical data from 86 sepsis patients admitted to West China Hospital of Sichuan University between June 2021 and December 2023, and these cases constituted the observation group. In addition, clinical data from 80 healthy individuals who underwent medical examinations at our hospital during the same period served as the control group.

HDAC11 is related to breast cancer prognosis and inhibits invasion and proliferation of breast cancer cells.

Objective: Histone deacetylases (HDACs) not only regulate histone acetylation but also participate in many pathophysiologic processes, especially the development of cancer, including breast cancer. However, whether Histone deacetylase 11 can influence breast cancer is still unknown. This study investigated the relationship between HDAC11 expression in breast cancers and clinicopathologic parameters, and used small interference RNA (siRNA) to determine the biological behavioural changes after knockdown of HDAC11.

Cause of death of patients with non-muscular invasive, non-metastatic muscular invasive and metastatic bladder cancer after diagnosis.

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the various causes of death among patients with non-muscular invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), non-metastatic muscle invasive bladder cancer (non-MMIBC) and metastatic bladder cancer (MBC) after diagnosis.

Methods: With the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Final Results database, patients diagnosed with bladder cancer from 2004 to 2015 were identified. All causes of death and the standardization mortality ratio (SMR) were analyzed.
