The immune system serves as a fundamental defender against the initiation and progression of cancer. Failure of the immune system augments immunosuppressive action that leading to cancer manifestation. This immunosuppressive effect causes from significant alterations in immune checkpoint expression associated with tumoral progression.

Copper plays a key role in host-pathogen interaction. We find that during Leishmania major infection, the parasite-harboring macrophage regulates its copper homeostasis pathway in a way to facilitate copper-mediated neutralization of the pathogen. Copper-ATPase ATP7A transports copper to amastigote-harboring phagolysosomes to induce stress on parasites.

The present study aimed to estimate variance components and genetic parameters of the average daily gains from birth to 3-months (ADG1), 3- to 6-months (ADG2), 6- to 9-months (ADG3) and 9- to 12-months (ADG4) of age and corresponding Kleiber ratios (KR1, KR2, KR3 and KR4, respectively) in Jersey crossbred calves. Data for this study were collected from National Dairy Research Institute, Eastern Regional Station, Kalyani, West Bengal, India during 2013 to 2021. Genetic parameters for the traits were estimated using Bayesian procedure through Gibbs sampling by fitting six animal models.

Hydroxamic acids represent a group of weak organic acids, both naturally occurring and synthetically derived, characterized by the general formula RC(= O)N(R'OH). In this study, we investigated the binding behavior of N-m-tolyl-4-chlorophenoxyaceto hydroxamic acid with calf thymus DNA (ct-DNA) and torula yeast RNA (t-RNA) through a combination of techniques including UV-visible spectroscopy, fluorescence emission analysis, viscometry, and computational simulations using AutoDock4 software. Our findings reveal that the mode of binding between the compound and the nucleic acids is consistent with intercalation.

Alzheimer's disease, a neurodegenerative condition, is characterized by the slow and progressive deterioration of the cognitive functions of geriatric patients. It occurs due to exacerbation of neurons in the brain, indicated by loss of memory, mood instability, and even death. The aggregation of amyloid β protein and neurofibrillary tangles-atypical forms of tau protein is the major cause of this disease.

Brucellosis is one of zoonotic bacterial diseases with significant veterinary and public health consequences in sub-Saharan African countries, including Ethiopia. A cross-sectional study design was conducted with the objective of estimating the seroprevalence of small ruminant brucellosis and assessing owners' knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) on brucellosis in Chiro and Burka Dhintu Districts in Eastern Ethiopia. A total sample of 444 animals were taken using a cluster based multistage sampling technique.

The cultivation of tilapias, the third most farmed fish group globally, has been rapidly growing, especially in Southeast Asia. This surge in tilapia farming intensification has led to increased use of antibiotics to control bacterial diseases. This study investigated the safety implications of administering graded doses of enrofloxacin (ENF) at 0 (control), 10, 30, 50 and 100 mg/kg biomass/day orally to .

Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women globally. The difficulties with anticancer medications, such as ineffective targeting, larger doses, toxicity to healthy cells and side effects, have prompted attention to alternate approaches to address these difficulties. RNA interference by small interfering RNA (siRNA) is one such tactic.

African swine fever (ASF) is caused by Asfivirus and has become one of the most important diseases of swine in recent years. ASF was an endemic disease of the sub-Saharan Africa but later spread to various parts of the world. The infection in ticks and wild swine, alongside global pork trade, drives its spread and persistence.

Metastatic colorectal carcinoma (mCRC) is one of the prevalent subtypes of human cancers and is caused by the alterations of various lifestyle and diet-associated factors. β-catenin, GSK-3β, PI3K-α, AKT1, and NF-κB p50 are known to be the critical regulators of tumorigenesis and immunopathogenesis of mCRC. Unfortunately, current drugs have limited efficacy, side effects and can lead to chemoresistance.

The biochemical interplay between antioxidants and pro-oxidants maintains the redox homeostatic balance of the cell, which, when perturbed to moderate or high extents, has been implicated in the onset and/or progression of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. Thioredoxin, glutaredoxin, and lipoic acid-like thiol oxidoreductase systems constitute a unique ensemble of robust cellular antioxidant defenses, owing to their indispensable roles as S-denitrosylases, S-deglutathionylases, and disulfide reductants in maintaining a reduced free thiol state with biological relevance. Thus, in cells subjected to nitrosative stress, cellular antioxidants will S-denitrosylate their cognate S-nitrosoprotein substrates, rather than participate in trans-S-nitrosylation via protein-protein interactions.

Multi drug resistance (MDR) in breast carcinoma still poses a significant impairment to successful chemotherapy. As the arsenal of anticancer agents increases with improved preclinical methods, the growth of therapeutic drug combinations is now unprecedented. The malignancies addressed by mono drugs often fail to limit cancer progression, resulting in resistant cancer, thereby offering combinatorial therapies a terrific edge over monodrug regimes.

Cytotoxic CD8 T cells plays a pivotal role in the adaptive immune system to protect the organism against infections and cancer. During activation and response, T cells undergo a metabolic reprogramming that involves various metabolic pathways, with a predominant reliance on glycolysis to meet their increased energy demands and enhanced effector response. Recently, extracellular vesicles (EVs) known as exosomes have been recognized as crucial signaling mediators in regulating the tumor microenvironment (TME).
