Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pulmonary rehabilitation under the supervision of health professionals at the institute versus conventional exercise-based pulmonary rehabilitation at home in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients.

Methods: Patients of COPD received pulmonary rehabilitation under the supervision of a professional at the institute (PI cohort, n = 115) or self-driven traditional Chinese methods-based pulmonary rehabilitation at home (CE cohort, n = 127) or did not receive any type of pulmonary rehabilitation (ME cohort, n = 155). All patients received inhaled pharmacological treatment for COPD.

Here we use astrocyte-derived extracellular vesicles (ADEVs) isolated from plasma to explore the in vivo changes of VEGF levels in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).

This study aimed to determine vitamin D deficiency in the onset of depression in DPN and evaluate the effect of vitamin D supplementation on depression.

Emergency medicine education via the micro-course and flipped classroom-reform of medical education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The "micro-course" and "flipped classroom" are emerging tools for medical education but little is known about their utility for emergency medicine teaching. The suitability of the micro-course combined with flipped classroom is investigated for delivery of an emergency medicine course in West Anhui Health Vocational College. Students from Class A and Class B of the Clinical Department of West Anhui Health Vocational College, Grade 2000, were assigned to experimental (micro-course plus flipped classroom, n = 102) and control (traditional, didactic teaching, n = 104) groups, respectively.

Aim: To identify subtypes of competence in managing workplace violence (WPV) among nursing interns and to assess between-group differences.

Background: Nursing interns are reported to be a vulnerable population for experiencing workplace violence during their clinical placement. Although WPV could have a negative impact on nursing interns' health and attitudes towards the nursing profession, little is known about nursing interns' competence in workplace violence management or its influencing factors.

Background: Isotonic crystalloids are the preferred solution for the initial clinical management of patients with multiple trauma, among which lactated Ringer's solution and normal saline are the most widely used, but both have clinical limitations. Bicarbonated Ringer's solution (BRS), which provides physiological levels of bicarbonate ions and electrolyte ions, can be used to supplement missing extracellular fluid and correct metabolic acidosis.

Methods: A prospective, randomized controlled study enrolled 63 patients with traumatic hepatic rupture and hemorrhagic shock.

Methods: There were 47 patients with ureteral stricture and treated with 3D laparoscopic surgery from December 2017 to December 2020, and comprehensive analysis of relevant clinical data. Among the patients with ureteral stricture, there were 31 males and 16 females, 28 were left-sided and 19 were right-sided, aged 20-78 years, with an average age of 43 years; the number of upper and middle ureteral stricture cases was 34, and the lower ureteral stricture was 13, with a stricture length of 0.

Objective: To study the effect of different marital status on the prognosis of patients with prostate cancer.

Methods: The general data of 169,533 patients with prostate cancer confirmed by biopsy or surgery in SEER database were retrospectively analyzed. The COX univariate analysis was performed first, and the meaningful variables of the univariate analysis were incorporated into the Cox proportional hazards model for multivariate analysis, and the independent factors affecting the prognosis of patients with prostate cancer were obtained.

Objective: Arterial spasm is proved to be an inducer of cerebral ischemia and cerebral infarction, while when a venous spasm occurs, cerebral edema is seen to be caused by a disturbance in cerebral blood flow. However, it is unclear and unproven whether venous spasm occurs after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). To provide the theoretical basis for treating cerebral vasospasm after SAH, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was employed to observe the changes in the diameter of deep cerebral veins in rabbits after SAH.
