To investigate DNA methylation patterns in asthenozoospermic and normozoospermic sperm and to explore the potential roles of differential methylations in the etiology of the disease. The authors performed whole-genome bisulfite sequencing analysis between normozoospermic controls and asthenozoospermic individuals. The authors identified 238 significant differentially methylated regions.

Background: Antimüllerian hormone, the most reliable biomarker of ovarian reserve, is widely used in various clinical situations. Antimüllerian hormone levels consistently decrease with age. However, there is no standard, age-specific reference values for antimüllerian hormone in women of reproductive age, which limits its application.

Background: There have been concerns that literature described radiological feature differences between drug-sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis (DS-PTB) and multidrug-resistant (MDR)-PTB were confounded by that MDR-PTB cases tend to have a longer history. Using history length matched DS-PTB and MDR-PTB cases from a well-defined urban region in Dalian, we retrospectively analysed the CT feature differences of these paired cases with a focus on pulmonary nodular (PN) consolidation and pulmonary cavity (PC).
Methods: There were 33 consecutive MDR-PTB cases [inclusive of rifampicin-resistant (RR) cases, 27 males and 6 females, mean age: 49.

Objectives: Extended testing for high-risk human papillomavirus genotypes (hrHPVGTs) is increasingly investigated for risk stratification in cervical cancer screening.
Methods: Age and hrHPVGT results from 16,993 women with atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASC-US) cytology between November 2015 and August 2021 were studied and correlated with available histopathologic findings within 6 months.
Results: High-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV)-positive rate was 66.

Objective: To study the correlation between mutation status and the risk of adverse reactions in patients with ovarian cancer.
Method: A real-world study was conducted at the largest gynecological oncology center in western China, the West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University. The research subjects were patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer who were initially treated in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2020 and had their gene status evaluated.

Background And Objective: The establishment of maternal-fetal interface immune tolerance is essential for successful pregnancy. Studies have shown that spontaneous abortion, recurrent abortion, and fetal growth restriction are related to maternal-fetal interface immune dysfunction. Preeclampsia is an idiopathic condition related to pregnancy which manifests as hypertension, proteinuria, and other target organ damage after 20 weeks of gestation.

Background: Minimal change disease is a common cause of nephrotic syndrome (NS) in children and has a good prognosis. Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN), a rare cause of NS in children, may progress to chronic kidney disease. However, there is little data on how to evaluate and treat IMN in children.

Parachute mitral valve (PMV) is a common form of congenital mitral stenosis and is difficult to diagnose prenatally. This report describes a fetal case of PMV with coarctation of the aorta that was diagnosed at 25 weeks' gestation by echocardiography and confirmed at autopsy. We describe the ultrasonographic features in this case and present a useful sign for making a prenatal diagnosis of PMV.

Background: Although progress has been made in exploring postpartum depression (PPD), the involvement of cerebral structure connectivity in PPD patients keeps unclear.
Purpose: To explore structural connectivity alternations in mothers with PPD, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and automated fiber quantification (AFQ) were used to calculate brain white matter microstructure properties.
Study Type: Cross-sectional.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of chronic endometritis (CE) in women with minimal/mild endometriosis and to analyze whether CE affects their pregnancy outcomes.
Methods: This retrospective study included 201 infertile women who were diagnosed with minimal/mild endometriosis after undergoing hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy from January 2016 to December 2018. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect CD138 and CD38, which are specific markers of plasma cells in the endometrial stroma to diagnose CE.

As a stable personality construct, trait emotional intelligence (TEI) refers to a battery of perceived emotion-related skills that make individuals behave effectively to adapt to the environment and maintain well-being. Abundant evidence has consistently shown that TEI is important for the outcomes of many mental health issues, particularly depression and anxiety. However, the neural substrates involved in TEI and the underlying neurobehavioral mechanism of how TEI reduces depression and anxiety symptoms remain largely unknown.

Childhood maltreatment (CM) has a long impact on physical and mental health of children. However, the neural underpinnings of CM are still unclear. In this study, we aimed to establish the associations between functional connectome of large-scale brain networks and influences of CM evaluated through Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) at the individual level based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data of 215 adults.

The 'angiogenic switch' is critical for tumor progression. However, the pathological details and molecular mechanisms remain incompletely characterized. In this study, we established mammal xenografts in zebrafish to visually investigate the first vessel growth (angiogenic switch) in real-time, by inoculating tumor cells into the perivitelline space of live optically transparent Transgenic (flk1:EGFP) zebrafish larvae.

Objective: Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a chronic autoimmune disease with a high prevalence in females. Published data have identified pregnant women with APS may suffer from recurrent miscarriage, fetal death. However, the association between antiphospholipid antibody (aPL) and fetal growth restriction (FGR) remains controversial.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has become a major international public health concern. However, because of controversy about the diagnostic criteria and patient selection, estimates of its absolute prevalence and change with time vary greatly.
Methods: We conducted two consecutive nationwide epidemiological surveys of the prevalence of PCOS in representative samples of reproductive-aged women in China in 2010 and 2020.

Background: Variants in the CASK gene result in a wide range of observed phenotypes in humans, such as FG Syndrome 4 and intellectual disabilities. Intellectual developmental disorder with microcephaly and pontine and cerebellar hypoplasia (MICPCH) is an X-linked disorder that affects females and is characterized by severely impaired intellectual development and variable degrees of pontocerebellar hypoplasia. Variants in CASK are the main genetic cause of MICPCH.
