Interleukin-17 (IL-17) has been demonstrated to promote the development of cancer cells in most organs. The purpose of this study was to determine if IL-17 promotes the development of ovarian cancer cells via upregulation of metastasis associated 1 (MTA1) expression. Human ovarian cancer cell lines SKOV-3, CAOV-3, and OVCAR-3 were used to test if IL-17 regulates MTA1 mRNA and protein expression.

Comparison of recombinant human FSH biosimilar QL1012 with Gonal-f® for ovarian stimulation: a phase-three trial.

Research Question: Are QL1012 and Gonal-f® equivalent in women undergoing ovarian stimulation for assisted reproductive technology (ART)?

Design: This multicentre, randomized, assessor-blinded, phase-three trial was conducted at 13 centres in China. Eligible patients were infertile women; age 20-39 years; body mass index 18-30 kg/m; regular menstrual cycles; and indication for ART. After successful pituitary downregulation, patients were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive QL1012 or Gonal-f®, stratified by age (initial dose of 75-150 IU for women younger than 30 years, 150-225 IU for women aged 30-34 years and 225-300 IU for women aged ≥35 years, subcutaneously, once daily).

Efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy after the surgical treatment of women with endometriosis: A preliminary case-control study.

Background: Regardless of unique status or symptoms, any woman with endometriosis is at risk of developing mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective psychological treatment for depression, anxiety, and stress. The objectives of the study were to see whether usual care combined with CBT improves depression, anxiety, and stress in patients after surgery for endometriosis as compared to usual care alone.

Aim: Progesterone resistance is an epigenetic factor that reduces endometrial receptivity and causes implantation failure in women with endometriosis. In addition, dysregulated miRNAs contribute to the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of endometriosis. This study aimed to determine the effect of miR-297 on the progesterone receptor (PR) expression and on insufficient decidualization of endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) within the eutopic endometria of infertile women with minimal or mild endometriosis.

Acute lung injury/inflammation (ALI) is usually caused by various injury factors inside and outside the lung, which can be transformed into acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in severe cases. Alveolar macrophages play a key role in the pathogenesis of ALI, which regulate inflammatory responses by secreting inflammatory mediators. Therefore, we prepared dexamethasone (DXM)/mannose co-modified branched polyethyleneimine (PEI) (DXM-PEI-mannose, DPM) prodrug nanopartcales, which could effectively target the mannose receptor (MR) on the surface of alveolar macrophages and be used for the treatment of ALI.

A novel ZIC3 mutation in a Chinese family with heterotaxy and multiple types of congenital heart defect.

Aims: A couple was referred for prenatal counseling at gestational age 21 weeks for revealed situs inversus with levocardia (HP:0,031,592), atrial situs inversus (HP:0,011,538), congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (ccTGA, HP:0,011,540) with ventricular septal defect (HP:0,001,629) and right aortic arch (HP:0,012,020). The couple had multiple prior pregnancies with complex congenital heart defects (CHDs, HP:0,001,627) in male fetuses. Testing was initiated to identify any fetal abnormality.

Rationale: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is an extremely rare soft tissue neoplasm consisting of the proliferation of fibroblastic-myofibroblastic cells with inflammatory infiltrates. It is known to occur in many parts of the body and can generally present with benign or locally recurrent behavior. Anaplastic lymphoma kinase is a specific diagnostic marker for IMT, and approximately 50% of IMT patients have anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene rearrangements.

Brd4 proteolysis-targeting chimera nanoparticles sensitized colorectal cancer chemotherapy.

Bromodomain-Containing Protein 4 (BRD4) is a member of the BET family of bromodomains, which participates in gene transcription process and is closely related to tumor progression. We observed the up-regulated expression of BRD4 in colorectal cancer (CRC) after doxorubicin (DOX) treatment, which might be a potential mechanism for DOX resistance. This study constructed the tumor-targeting (cyclo (Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Phe-Lys)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone)) (cRGD-PEG-PCL) copolymer for co-delivery of DOX and BRD4 PROTAC degrader ARV-825 (ARV-DOX/cRGD-P) for CRC treatment.

Case report: Prenatal diagnosis of fetal non-compaction cardiomyopathy with bradycardia accompanied by mutation.

We herein report what appears to be the first case of fetal non-compaction cardiomyopathy in both ventricles accompanied by a mutation in the calmodulin gene (). A 25-year-old woman was referred to our hospital at 25 weeks of gestation for evaluation of fetal defects. Prenatal echocardiography showed biventricular non-compaction cardiomyopathy with sinus bradycardia.

Electroconvulsive therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder: A retrospective study.

Background: Chronic mental diseases such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) are associated with a high disability rate. Some patients still do not improve their symptoms even with adequate cognitive-behavioral therapy and drug treatment. In the treatment of OCD, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is not considered a neuromodulation modality with sufficient evidence.

Methods: The low-risk GTN patients from 2012 to 2019 were enrolled. The study is a retrospective report to analyze the efficacy and safety of single-agent chemotherapy and combination chemotherapy in patients with a high FIGO/WHO prognostic score of 5-6.

And whether intraoperative frozen pathology exam on common iliac lymph nodes could help predict para-aortic lymph node (PALN) metastasis was unanswered with high-level evidence.

Methods: A multi-center, randomized controlled study is intended to investigate the effect of PALD on the prognosis and QoL in cervical cancer patients and to assess the value of intraoperative frozen pathological evaluation of common iliac nodes metastasis for the prediction of PALN metastasis.

Postpartum depression and major depressive disorder: the same or not? Evidence from resting-state functional MRI.

Background: Although postpartum depression (PPD) and non-peripartum major depressive disorder (MDD) occurring within and outside the postpartum period share many clinical characteristics, whether PPD and MDD are the same or not remains controversial.

Methods: The current study was devoted to identify the shared and different neural circuits between PPD and MDD by resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data from 77 participants (22 first-episodic drug-naïve MDD, 26 drug-naïve PPD, and 29 healthy controls (HC)).

Results: Both the PPD and MDD groups exhibited higher fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF) in left temporal pole relative to the HC group; the MDD group showed specifically increased degree centrality in the right cerebellum while PPD showed specifically decreased fALFF in the left supplementary motor area and posterior middle temporal gyrus (pMTG_L), and specifically decreased functional connectivities between pMTG and precuneus and between left subgeneual anterior cingulate cortex (sgACC_L) and right sgACC.

Breastfeeding by a mother taking cyclosporine for nephrotic syndrome.

Background: Cyclosporine is widely used for immunosuppressive treatment of various systematic and local autoimmune diseases. Breastfeeding is conventionally contraindicated when treating with cyclosporine due to its excretion into breast milk, which may cause immune suppression of exposed infants and affect infants` growth. A few cases have tested cyclosporine levels in random breast milk samples and concluded the infants exposed to safe cyclosporine levels during breastfeeding.

Enhanced anti-glioma efficacy of doxorubicin with BRD4 PROTAC degrader using targeted nanoparticles.

Current treatment of glioma is hampered due to the physical blood-brain barrier (BBB) and the resistance to traditional chemotherapeutic agents. Herein, we proposed a combined treatment strategy based on Cyclo (Arg-Gly-Asp-d-Phe-Lys) (cRGDfk) peptides-modified nanoparticle named cRGD-P in a self-assembly method for the co-delivery of doxorubicin (DOX) and BRD4 PROTAC degrader ARV-825 (ARV). A 7-year-old boy with recurrent cyanosis and tachypnea: A case report.
