Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced apoptosis occurs in the spinal cord following traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI). Dl-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP) exerts an neuroprotective effects against both ischemic brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases; however, the relationship between ER stress-induced apoptosis and the therapeutic effect of NBP in SCI remains unclear. In this study, moderate spinal cord injuries were induced in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats with a vascular clip.

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress play important roles in the spinal cord injury (SCI), which including blood-spinal cord barrier (BSCB) disruption. Lithium chloride (LiCl) is a clinical drug for bipolar mood disorders and contributes to neuroprotection. This study aims to investigate the effects of LiCl on BSCB disruption and the ER stress pathway induced by spinal cord injury.

Angiotensin II (Ang II) modulates blood pressure and atherosclerosis development through its vascular type-1 (AT1R) and type-2 (AT2R) receptors, which have opposing effects. AT2R activation produces hypotension, and is anti-atherogenic. Targeted overexpression of AT2Rs in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) indicates that these effects are due to increased nitric oxide (NO) generation.

Analytical and Testing Center of Wenzhou Medical UniversityWenzhou 325035, China; Shanghai Key Laboratory of Forensic Medicine, Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of JusticeShanghai 200063, China.

In order to investigate the effects of diphenoxylate on the metabolic capacity of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, a cocktail method was employed to evaluate the activities of CYP2B6, CYP2D6, CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, CYP2C9. The rats were randomly divided into diphenoxylate group (Low, Medium, High) and control group. The diphenoxylate group rats were given 12, 24, 48 mg/kg (Low, Medium, High) diphenoxylate by continuous intragastric administration for 7 days.
