Introduction: Adjuvant docetaxel-based chemotherapy is frequently used in the treatment of operable early breast cancer (EBC). This study investigated patterns of docetaxel use in patients with EBC in real-world clinical practice in China.

Methods: This was a multicenter, prospective, observational study of Chinese women with operable breast cancer in tier 1 non-oncology-specific hospitals and other city hospitals in China.

Methods: Cell proliferation was assayed with MTT method, the expression of CD33, CD15, CD11b, CD14, Annexin-V, caspase-3 and cell cycle with flow cytometry, and the expression of p-Akt, p-ERK, bcl-2 and p27kip1 with Western blot.

Silver nanoparticles (SNPs) translocate to the brain through the blood stream after they are implanted in vivo. The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution of SNPs that crossed through the blood-brain barrier (BBB). An in vitro BBB model established by co-cultures of rat brain microvessel vascular endothelial cells (BMVECs) with astrocytes (ACs) was cultured with cell culture medium containing 100 microg/mL of either SNPs or silver microparticles (SMPs).

Objective: To investigate the expression of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB), transforming growth factor beta1 (TGFbeta1), fibronectin (FN) in liver from diabetic rats.

Methods: Twenty male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into two groups: normal control group (n = 10) and type 2 diabetic group (n = 10). After 4 weeks of high-fat feeding, diabetic group rats were injected with low dosage streptozotocin (30 mg/kg) intraperitoneally to induce type 2 diabetic rat models.

Objective: To recognize the clinical features of the enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection with pulmonary edema or pulmonary hemorrhage as a fulminant and often fatal illness.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of the three cases with EV71 infection for clinical manifestation, laboratory data, medications, outcome etc.
