The Task Force, formulated by otolaryngologist experts in AI, used an iterative approach, adapted from the Delphi method, to prioritize topics for inclusion and to reach a consensus on guiding principles.

Purpose: Temporal trends in and predictors of inpatient palliative care use in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) undergoing critical care therapy are unknown.

Methods: Relying on the National Inpatient Sample (2008-2019), we identified mRCC patients undergoing critical care therapy, namely invasive mechanical ventilation, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube insertion, dialysis for acute kidney failure, total parenteral nutrition, or tracheostomy. Methods: In a phase 3, open-label trial, we enrolled patients with ER-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced breast cancer that recurred or progressed during or after aromatase inhibitor therapy, administered alone or with a cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6) inhibitor. Topic Importance: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex, heterogeneous lung disease characterized by persistent airflow limitation secondary to airways and parenchymal abnormalities, and respiratory symptoms, including dyspnoea, fatigue, chronic cough, and sputum production. Cigarette smoke exposure is a major contributor to COPD although inhalation of toxic particles and other environmental and host factors can contribute to its genesis. Dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) are rare but significant intracranial vascular malformations that are usually idiopathic and can lead to severe complications like venous hypertension and intracranial hemorrhage. We present 2 cases of DAVF occurring after venous sinus stenting (VSS) for presumed idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) in a 51-year-old and a 52-year-old female. In both patients, Cognard type 1 DAVF was detected by Catheter angiography and successfully obliterated with Onyx™ embolization.

Background: The work relative value units (wRVUs) system was established as a quantifier of physician labor, technical skill, medical decision-making, and training time required to complete a surgical procedure; hence, more challenging operations should theoretically result in higher reimbursement or compensation. Our purpose was to highlight the discrepancies between insurance-based reconstructive and fee-for-service aesthetic procedures based upon dollar/unit time.

Methods: We analyzed national data from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, Aesthetic Surgery Databank, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to compare reimbursement for 8 reconstructive microsurgery and 3 aesthetic procedures and assessed operative times and reimbursement rates, then calculated "relative value unit per unit time" to measure compensation efficiency.
