Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a severe microvascular complication of diabetes associated with high mortality and disability rates. Inflammation has emerged as a key pathological mechanism in DKD, prompting interest in novel therapeutic approaches targeting inflammatory pathways. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), a well-established inflammatory cytokine known for mediating various inflammatory responses, has attracted great attention in the DKD field.

Clinical Characteristics of Related Endogenous Endophthalmitis in China.

Purpose: To investigate the clinical characteristics and systemic risk factors of related endogenous endophthalmitis (KPREE) in China and explore the possible pathophysiological mechanisms.

Methods: This was a retrospective comparative study. All enrolled KPREE patients were followed up for at least 1 month to observe their clinical characteristics, unfavorable prognosis, and risk factors, and were compared with intraocular surgery-related postoperative endophthalmitis (ISRPE).

Background: It is challenging yet critical to differentiate between hemorrhagic transformation (HT) and contrast extravasation on non-contrast-enhanced computed tomography (NCCT) scans following mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke. We propose a new method called the ratio of maximum density values (RMDV) to minimize the confusion of contrast extravasation and to evaluate the diagnostic significance of RMDV in predicting HT on immediate post-interventional NCCT scans.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of the prospective patients' database who received MT for acute ischemic stroke caused by occlusion of the intracranial large artery and showed postinterventional cerebral hyperdensities (PCHDs) on NCCT scans immediately after MT.

The Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, CNKI, SinoMed, Wanfang, and VIP databases were systematically searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on IPT as a treatment for postoperative pain management following perianal surgery from inception until June 15, 2022.

Liquid concrete as a gastrointestinal tract foreign body.

Gastrointestinal foreign bodies present a common clinical challenge. We present an unusual case of a 58-year-old construction worker who ingested liquid concrete that risked solidifying in his stomach. Gastroscopy revealed only partial solidification and pyloric obstruction, which were successfully resolved through endoscopic fragmentation and mechanical removal.
