This study selected two commonly used techniques for the prepectoral approach: single-incision, gas-inflated endoscopic prepectoral breast reconstruction (SIE-BR) and open prepectoral implant-based breast reconstruction (C-BR), as well as a commonly used technique for the subpectoral approach: open subpectoral implant-based breast reconstruction (SI-BR). By comparing the clinical efficacy and aesthetic outcomes of these three techniques in the treatment of breast cancer patients, this study aims to summarize the advantages of the prepectoral approach.

Rationale: Microcephaly, epilepsy, and developmental delay (MCSZ) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder associated with autosomal recessive inheritance of mutations in the polynucleotide kinase 3'-phosphatase (PNKP) gene. Prompt identification and management are essential, as delayed diagnosis or intervention may result in severe complications or mortality. In this case, prenatal screening in the second trimester detected fetal microcephaly with a gradual decline in head circumference, prompting the decision to terminate the pregnancy.

IBI310 plus sintilimab vs. placebo plus sintilimab in recurrent/metastatic cervical cancer: A double-blind, randomized controlled trial.

Methods: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 2 study (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04590599), patients with recurrent/metastatic CC (R/M CC) who experienced disease progression after or during platinum-based chemotherapy were enrolled from 37 centers across China and randomly assigned (1:1), stratified by PD-L1 expression and prior treatment lines, to receive either IBI310 plus sintilimab or placebo plus sintilimab intravenously every 3 weeks for 12 weeks, followed by sintilimab alone.

Systemic lupus erythematosus-specific CD14IFITM3 monocyte: Implications for disease activity and progression.

Interferon-inducible transmembrane (IFITM) family members (IFITM1, IFITM2, IFITM3) are extensively expressed in T cells and are involved in adaptive immunity. However, little is known about the expression of IFITM1, IFITM2 and IFITM3 in monocytes and their roles in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Our study has shown that the expression of IFITM1, IFITM2, and IFITM3 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of SLE patients was dysregulated, and the expression of IFITM3 in SLE was significantly higher than that of healthy controls.

Nomogram model for predicting secondary infection in critically ill patients with heatstroke: A pilot study from China.

Objective: In this retrospective analysis, we explored the clinical characteristics and risk factors of secondary infections in patients with severe heatstroke with the aim to gain epidemiological insights and identify risk factors for secondary infections.

Method: The study included 129 patients with severe heatstroke admitted to the General Hospital of the Southern Theater Command of the PLA between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2021. Patients were divided into an infection group (n = 24) and a non-infection group (n = 105) based on infection occurrence within 48 h of intensive care unit (ICU) admission.
