Introduction: Early onset sepsis (EOS) remains a potentially fatal newborn condition, especially in very preterm infants. Data on the pathogen distribution and antibiotic susceptibility patterns of EOS among very preterm infants are scarce but essential for the choice of empirical antibiotic administration. We sought to assess the epidemiologic characteristics and antibiotic susceptibility patterns of pathogens causing EOS among a cohort of very preterm infants in China.

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is one of the most malignant subtypes of breast cancer with an unsatisfied prognosis. Effective biomarkers could predict the risk and improve patients' survival. Whether LINC00466 possesses the potential to serve as a biomarker of the progression and prognosis of TNBC was evaluated.

Introduction: Multiple sclerosis is an immune-mediated demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system. Because of the complexity of etiology, pathology, clinical manifestations, and the diversity of classification, the diagnosis of MS is very difficult. We found that McDonald Criteria is very strict and relies heavily on the evidence for DIS and DIT.

Objectives: The high frequency of chemotherapy resistance is ultimately responsible for clinical relapse in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Nevertheless, the molecular mechanism relevant to glucocorticoid (GC) resistance remains ambiguous.

Methods: Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were performed to detect the expressions of paraoxonase 2 (PON2), Bcl-2 and Bax.

Long noncoding RNA SET-binding factor 2 (SBF2) antisense RNA 1 (AS1) is associated with the growth and metastasis of multiple cancer types, but its biological roles in serous ovarian carcinoma (SOC) remain unclear. In this study, the aberrant upregulation of SBF2-AS1 is detected in SOC after analysis of differentially expressed genes between SOC tissues and normal fallopian tubes from the public Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. We determine that knockdown of SBF2-AS1 inhibits SOC cell proliferation and invasion by sponging miR-338-3p.

Temporal persistence is as important for nanocarriers as spatial accuracy. However, because of the insufficient aggreagtion and short retention time of chemotherapy drugs in tumors, their clinical application is greatly limited. A drug delivery approach dependent on the sensitivity to an enzyme present in the microenvironment of the tumor is designed to exhibit different sizes in different sites, achieving enhanced drug permeability and retention to improve tumor nanotherapy efficacy.

Gestational hypertension is a common disease in clinical practice, which does great harm to the mother and infant. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between 25-hydroxyvitamin D, sFlt-1, and PLGF and hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy. Specimen preparation: after delivery or placental caesarean section, in order to avoid calcification and necrosis in the middle of the placenta, an area of about 1.

Context: Rhynchopylline and pellodendrine are major extractions of commonly used Chinese medicine in gynaecology. The interaction between these two compounds could affect treatment efficiency and even result in toxicity during their co-administration in gynaecological prescription.

Objective: The pharmacokinetic interaction between rhynchopylline and pellodendrine and the potential mechanism were investigated in this study.

Thyroid dysgenesis (TD) accounts for 80% cases of congenital hypothyroidism, which is the most common neonatal disorder. Until now, the gene mutations have been reported associated with TD can only account for 5% cases, suggesting the genetic heterogeneity of the pathology. Nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT) plays a crucial role in regulating redox homeostasis, patients carrying NNT mutations have been described with a clinical phenotype of hypothyroidism.

Purpose: Neonatal sepsis (NS) is one of the most crucial causes of death in newborns. This investigation aimed to validate the expression level of NORAD and the probable mechanism underlying the function of NORAD in NS.

Patients And Methods: The expression of NORAD and miR-410-3p was identified by qRT-PCR.

Background: Overcrowding, abuse of antibiotics and increasing antimicrobial resistance negatively affect neonatal survival rates in developing countries. We aimed to define pathogens and their antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of early-onset sepsis (EOS), hospital-acquired late-onset sepsis (HALOS) and community-acquired late-onset sepsis (CALOS) in 25 neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in China.

Study Design: This retrospective descriptive study included pathogens and their AMR from all neonates with bloodstream infections (BSIs) admitted to 25 tertiary hospitals in China from January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2019.

Background: Autophagy related protein 5 (ATG5) is an important autophagosome formation related protein, and its involvement in the biological process of autophagy has been shown to correlate with tumor metabolic patterns and the formation of tumor heterogeneity. However, the role of ATG5 in tumor metabolism and tumor immunity remains unclear.

Method: In order to explore this problem, this study was designed to reveal the role of ATG5 in tumor metabolism and tumor immunity through pan-cancer analysis of multi-database.

A growing body of evidence indicates that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in the chemoresistance of human cancers. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the functions of certain lncRNAs in the chemotherapeutic resistance of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain unclear. The aim of the present study was to investigate the function and potential mechanism of action of lncRNA LINC00173 in HCC cisplatin (DDP) resistance.
