Desmoplastic fibroma (DF) is an uncommon benign bone tumor that typically affects the facial bones, with cerebral cranium involvement being extremely rare. We report a unique case of DF in the parietal bone of a 28-year-old woman, notable for its rapid growth during pregnancy-a phenomenon not previously documented. The imaging features of this case also differ from all but one previously reported case.

Objective: Hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) is a leading cause of neonatal mortality, resulting in brain injury and persistent seizures that can last into the late neonatal period and beyond. Effective treatments and interventions for infants affected by hypoxia-ischemia remain lacking. Clinical investigations have indicated an elevation of nuclear factor of activated T cells 5 (NFAT5) in whole blood from umbilical cords of severely affected HIBD infants with epilepsy.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a tumor type with a high mortality rate. Chlorogenic acid, abundant in resources and widely utilized in cancer treatments, has seen limited studies regarding its efficacy against OSCC. This paper investigates chlorogenic acid's mechanism in treating OSCC, aiming to guide the development of novel drugs.

Background: Depression is a chronic and recurrent disorder with an unknown etiology. Efficacious antidepressant treatments with minimal side effects are urgently needed. Neuroinflammation may contribute to depression, as anti-inflammatory drugs have been shown to alleviate depressive symptoms in clinical practice.

Post-discharge coping difficulty presents a significant challenge for mothers of preterm infants. The readiness for hospital discharge and parenting self-efficacy are crucial factors influencing post-discharge coping difficulty. However, the pathways through which these factors impact post-discharge coping difficulty remain unclear.

An increasing number of studies have indicated the crucial involvement of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the onset and progression of malignancies. However, a complete understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the effect of abnormally expressed lncRNAs on breast cancer (BC) remains elusive. This study aimed to elucidate the influence of the lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 1 (SNHG1) on BC progression and its underlying mechanism.

In rapidly industrialising countries like China, the survival rates of EPIs have notably increased due to the swift socioeconomic development. However, there is still a reasonably lower positive response towards the treatment of EPIs than we expected, and the current situation of withdrawing care is an urgent task for perinatal medical practitioners.

Background: The measurement of the coping difficulties of parents of premature infants after discharge provides objective data for nurses to prepare infants for discharge. However, no Chinese scale has been developed to measure parents' coping difficulties after their premature infants are discharged.
Aim: To translate the parent version of the Post-Discharge Coping Difficulty Scale (Ped-PDCDS) from English to Chinese and test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version in parents of premature infants.

Aims: To investigate the safety of oral iron therapy in pregnant women with iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) in the real world.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 1792 pregnant patients with IDA who received oral iron supplements from 12 hospitals in Shandong Province from 1 April to 31 June 2021; follow-up and adverse reactions were recorded. They were divided into six groups according to the treatment drugs.

Background: circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been considered novel biomarker candidates for human cancers, such as triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). circ_0001006 was identified as a differentially expressed circRNA in metastatic breast cancer, but its significance and function in TNBC were unclear. The significance of circ_0001006 in TNBC was assessed and exploring its potential molecular mechanism to provide a therapeutic target for TNBC.

Resistance to docetaxel is a major problem to the success of docetaxel-based therapies for breast cancer. The present study was to identify the role of circABCB1 in altering the docetaxel resistance properties. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) was performed to quantify circABCB1 and miR-153-3p.

Mental disorders such as anxiety and depression induced by chronic pain are common in clinical practice, and there are significant sex differences in their epidemiology. However, the circuit mechanism of this difference has not been fully studied, as preclinical studies have traditionally excluded female rodents. Recently, this oversight has begun to be resolved and studies including male and female rodents are revealing sex differences in the neurobiological processes behind mental disorder features.

Introduction: Sunitinib, a first-line therapy with a certain effect, was utilized in the early stages of renal cell carcinoma treatment. However, its clinical toxicity, side effects, and its limited bioavailability, resulted in inadequate clinical therapeutic efficacy. Building neoteric, simple, and safe drug delivery systems with existing drugs offers new options.

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiONPs) and cypermethrin (CPM) are widely used in various fields, and they can enter the environment in different ways. Combined exposure of TiONPs and CPM may increase the accumulation of pollutants in organisms and affect human health. This study was undertaken to evaluate the oxidative and inflammatory parameters associated with the combined exposure of TiONPs and CPM in rats.

Titanium nanoparticles and pyrethroid pesticides are now being widely used in industrial, agriculture, and biomedical applications. In recent years, their health safety profiles have aroused concerns among health scientists. This study mainly explored the combined effects of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiONPs) and cypermethrin (CYP) on reproductive toxicity in male rats by gavage for 90 days.

Introduction: Early onset sepsis (EOS) remains a potentially fatal newborn condition, especially in very preterm infants. Data on the pathogen distribution and antibiotic susceptibility patterns of EOS among very preterm infants are scarce but essential for the choice of empirical antibiotic administration. We sought to assess the epidemiologic characteristics and antibiotic susceptibility patterns of pathogens causing EOS among a cohort of very preterm infants in China.
