The dramatic increase of drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria has seriously effect on human health, appealing the needs of developing theranostic platforms with stimuli-responsive materials to realize the accurate bacterial diagnostics and therapeutics. Herein, a tannic acid and carboxymethyl chitosan-based multifunctional ZIF-90@i-PPOPs-phenol red double-layered hydrogel with stimuli-responsiveness and antibacterial activity was fabricated. The inner layer hydrogel (ZIF-90@i-PPOPs-based TFC hydrogels) was fabricated based on ZIF-90@i-PPOPs, integrate tannic acid and carboxymethyl chitosan linked by formylphenylboronic acid (FPBA), which exhibited outstanding injectable, biodegradability and antibacterial activity.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility of a dual-crosslinked injectable hydrogel derived from acellular musclar matrix (AMM) for promoting myoblasts proliferation and myogenic differentiation.

Methods: Firstly, hyaluronic acid was oxidized with NaIO and methylated to prepare methacrylamidated oxidized hyaluronic acid (MOHA). Then, AMM obtained by washing enzymatically treated muscle tissue was aminolyzed to prepare aminated AMM (AAMM).

Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA) is a fat-soluble compound extracted from , which has a protective effect against atherosclerosis (AS). Tan IIA can inhibit oxidative stress and inflammatory damage of vascular endothelial cells (VECs) and improve endothelial cell dysfunction. Tan IIA also has a good protective effect on vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs).

The development of immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs) has revolutionized the progress of solid tumors. Ongoing clinical trials are exploring the use of checkpoint inhibitors in recurrent small-cell lung cancer and achieving specific results. Although studies have been conducted to systematically review this issue, we conducted this single-arm meta-analysis in light of the emergence of several new clinical studies.

As individuals age, cancer becomes increasingly common. This continually rising risk can be attributed to various interconnected factors that influence the body's susceptibility to cancer. Among these factors, the accumulation of senescent cells in tissues and the subsequent decline in immune cell function and proliferative potential are collectively referred to as immunosenescence.

Background: Immunotherapy has shown promise in the treatment of esophageal cancer, but using it alone only benefits a small number of patients. Most patients either do not have a significant response or develop secondary drug resistance. The combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy appears to be a promising approach to treating esophageal cancer.

A prognostic model of drug tolerant persister-related genes in lung adenocarcinoma based on single cell and bulk RNA sequencing data.

Heliyon

November 2023

Cancer Center, Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital, Affiliated People's Hospital, Hangzhou Medical College, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.

Background: Acquired resistance to targeted drugs is a major challenge in cancer. The drug-tolerant state has been proposed to be an initial step towards acquisition of real drug-resistance. Drug tolerant persister (DTP) cells are purported to survive during treatment and stay dormant for several years.

Background: Some microRNAs have been found to be abnormal in patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI) after intravenous thrombolysis. This study aimed to measure the expression of miR-106a-5p in ACI patients before and after thrombolytic treatment, and to investigate the prognostic value of miR-106a-5p and computed tomography perfusion imaging (CTPI) parameters in ACI patients receiving thrombolysis.

Methods: The levels of serum miR-106a-5p were detected by quantitative real-time PCR in 78 ACI patients before thrombolysis, 24 hours after thrombolysis, and 3 months (90 days) after onset.
