Background: Delta large-channel endoscopy and unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) are prominent minimally invasive techniques for treating lumbar spinal stenosis, known for minimal tissue damage, clear visualization, and quick recovery. However, rigorous controlled research comparing these procedures is scarce, necessitating further investigation into their respective complications and long-term effectiveness. This randomized controlled trial aims to compare their perioperative outcomes, focusing on postoperative recovery and complications over time.

Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome characterized by hypophosphatemia caused by excessive secretion of fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) by tumors. This leads to impaired bone mineralization and, ultimately, osteomalacia. The most common underlying cause is a phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor (PMT).

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) represents a hematological malignancy that arises from the abnormal proliferation of progenitor cells or myeloid hematopoietic stem. The current standard treatments for AML include chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. However, chemotherapy suffers from high toxicity and a shortage of hematopoietic stem cell donors, which significantly shortens patient survival.

Interferon-inducible transmembrane (IFITM) family members (IFITM1, IFITM2, IFITM3) are extensively expressed in T cells and are involved in adaptive immunity. However, little is known about the expression of IFITM1, IFITM2 and IFITM3 in monocytes and their roles in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Our study has shown that the expression of IFITM1, IFITM2, and IFITM3 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of SLE patients was dysregulated, and the expression of IFITM3 in SLE was significantly higher than that of healthy controls.

Recent progress in wound healing has highlighted the need for more effective treatment strategies capable of addressing the complex biological and physiological challenges of wound repair. Traditional wound dressings often fail to address the complex and evolving needs of chronic, acute, and burn wounds, particularly in terms of promoting healing, preventing infection, and supporting tissue regeneration. In response to these challenges, calcium alginate fibers (CAFs) have emerged as promising materials, characterized by their exceptional structural properties and diverse biological functions, offering significant commercial potential for the development of advanced wound dressings and therapeutic solutions.

Up to half of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, for which effective treatment options are lacking, resulting in a poor prognosis. Over the past few years, the combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors and anti-angiogenic targeted therapy has proven highly efficacious in treating advanced HCC, significantly extending patients' survival and providing a potential for sequential curative surgery. After sequential curative hepatectomy or liver transplantation following conversion therapy, patients can receive long-term survival benefits.

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) is a malignancy originating from soft tissues and ranks among the most prevalent soft tissue sarcomas in adults. The considerable complexity and heterogeneity of MFH contribute to an obscure pathogenesis, presenting with atypical clinical manifestations and pathologic features that complicate the clinical diagnostic process. Typically, MFH manifests in the extremities, trunk, and retroperitoneum, while occurrences in the head and neck regions are exceedingly rare.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease that leads to joint deformity and ultimately disability. The metabolite of quercetin, 4-Methylcatechol (4-MC), has been acknowledged for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties; however, the protective effects of 4-MC on RA and its underlying mechanisms remain incompletely elucidated. In a collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model, we observed that 4-MC effectively mitigated joint inflammation and bone destruction in CIA mice.

Male breast cancer represents only 1% of all breast malignancies, with ectopic breast cancer in men being even rarer and highly prone to diagnostic challenges. Extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD), a rare cutaneous tumor with non-specific clinical symptoms, is susceptible to misdiagnosis. This report discusses the case of an older male patient who presented with a scrotal mass, later identified as ectopic breast invasive adenocarcinoma upon pathological examination post-lesion excision.

Neuroinflammation induced by activation of microglial is a vital contributor to progression of Parkinson's disease (PD), emerging evidences suggested that ferroptosis played a pivotal role in microglial activation and subsequent dopaminergic neuron loss. Nevertheless, the fundamental pathogenesis of that ferroptosis contributes to PD is not yet sufficiently understood. Based on GEO dataset, ferroptosis related genes were found to be enriched in PD patients and MPTP mouse model of PD, among them, ATF4 was found to be dramatically differentially expressed.
