Nano-sized hydroxyapatite (nHA) particles have been demonstrated to exert anti-cancer effects on multiple cancer cell lines and animal models of cancer biology. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the effects of nHA particles on glioma cells remains unclear. The present study aimed to examine the effects of nHA on the behavior of glioma cells and investigate its underlying molecular mechanism.

With the widespread use of natural pyrethrins and pyrethroids to defend pest insects, people had the sustained interest in the potential risk to environment and human health. However, the research about natural pyrethrins and beta-cypermethrin induction of cytotoxicity is still seldom. This study is about the cytotoxic effects of these on human non-target cells in vitro.

Objective: The meta-analysis was performed to investigate the clinical efficacy of spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with splenic vessel preservation (SPDP-SVP) and spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with splenic vessel resection (SPDP-SVR).

Methods: Potential articles were searched on the databases of Pubmed, Embase, and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from January 1988 until March 2017. Weight mean difference (WMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) was applied to compare the efficacy of SPDP-SVP and SPDP-SVR.

Background: Accumulating data have reported that polymorphism may be related to nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) and laryngeal cancer (LC). This meta-analysis was performed to investigate the relationship between polymorphism and risks of NPC and LC.

Methods: Pubmed, Embase, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases were searched for potential articles.

Luteolin-7-O-glucoside (LUTG) was isolated from the plants of Dracocephalum tanguticum Maxim. Previous research has showed that LUTG pretreatment had a significant protective effect against doxorubicin (DOX)-induced cardiotoxicity by reducing intracellular calcium overload and leakage of creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase. But the underlying mechanisms have not been completely elucidated.
