The rapid development of nanotechnology during the last two decades has created new opportunities to design and generate more advanced nanotheranostics with diversified capabilities for diagnosis, drug delivery, and treatment response monitoring in a single platform. To date, several approaches have been employed in order to develop nanotheranostics. The purpose of this review is to briefly discuss the key components of nanotheranostic systems, to present the conventional and upcoming imaging and therapeutic modalities that employ nanotheranostic systems, and to evaluate recent progress in the field of cancer nanotheranostic systems in the past five years (2020-2024).

Anthocyanins (ACNs) possess strong antioxidants, anti-cancer, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, and anti-inflammatory properties but are limited use by their susceptibility to environmental factors. This study aims to overcome these limitations by developing and assessing a novel coacervate system, consisting of potato protein isolate (PPI) combined with various polysaccharides, to stabilize and encapsulate anthocyanins from black carrot concentrate The polysaccharides included in this system include inulin, gum Arabic, guar gum, pectin, and soluble fiber. The coacervate system's effectiveness in maintaining stability and increasing the bioavailability of anthocyanins was evaluated compared to conventional soybean protein-based systems.

Background/objectives: Young women are often at risk of vitamin D deficiency, while fatty fish can provide significant amounts of it, which is especially important when no vitamin D skin synthesis is possible due to limited sunshine exposure. This study aimed to analyze the impact of increasing the intake of salmon in various forms (smoked salmon, salmon sausages) on vitamin D status of young women in autumn.
Methods: The 8-week intervention involved 120 non-obese women, aged 20-25 years.

This study presents the optimization and validation of an ultrasound-assisted acid method for the HPLC-UV determination of amino acids in plant-based proteins. The research focuses on enhancing hydrolysis efficiency and reducing environmental impact. Ultrasound treatment significantly accelerated hydrolysis by creating cavitation, which increases local pressure and temperature, leading to faster reaction rates.

Bone mineral density (BMD) varies with aging and both systemic and local diseases; however, such evidence is lacking in feline medicine. This may be due to the need for general anesthesia in cats for direct BMD measurements using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) or quantitative computed tomography (QCT). In this study, computed digital absorptiometry (CDA), an indirect relative BMD-measuring method, was optimized to select an X-ray tube setting for the quantitative assessment of the feline knee joint.

The stability and bioavailability of green tea polyphenols, crucial for their health benefits, are compromised by environmental sensitivity, limiting their use in functional foods and supplements.
