Introduction: The therapeutic needs of women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), coupled with the increasing application of acupuncture in improving ovarian function, have highlighted the need to verify the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for DOR. This study aims to provide high-quality evidence by evaluating both ovarian reserve and in vitro fertilisation (IVF) outcomes.

Methods And Analysis: A large-scale, multicentre, randomised controlled trial will be carried out across seven hospitals in China.

Myocardial fibrosis is a common pathological manifestation that occurs in various cardiac diseases. The present investigation aims to reveal how DNMT1/lncRNA-ANRIL/NLRP3 influences fibrosis and cardiac fibroblast pyroptosis. Here, we used ISO to induce myocardial fibrosis in mice, and LPS and ATP to induce myocardial fibroblast pyroptosis.

Sympathetic nerve remodeling after myocardial infarction (MI) has an indispensable role in cardiac remodeling. Numerous works have shown that sympathetic nerve remodeling can be delayed by inhibition of inflammatory response. Earlier studies have shown improvement in ventricular remodeling and inhibited chronic stage neural remodeling by Yiqi Huoxue decoction (YQHX).

Epimedium has beneficial effects in nourishing and building up the body and is widely used in practical production of Epimedium preparations. As one of the major active compounds in Epimedium preparations, icariin is be used as a quality control index of industrial manufacture. However, content of icariin was observed to increase to uncertain extent in pharmaceutical production, which might bring difficulties in quality control.

Myocardial infarction can lead to ventricular remodeling and arrhythmia, which is closely related to nerve remodeling. Our previous study found that decoction (YQHX) can improve ventricular remodeling and reduce myocardial damage. Therefore, in this study, we observed the effect of YQHX on cardiac neural remodeling and cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and its possible mechanism.

Microendoscopy-assisted extraforaminal lumbar interbody fusion for treating single-level spondylodesis.

J Orthop Surg Res

March 2021

Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Aichi Spine Hospital, 31-1 Kamiike Goroumaru, Inuyama City, Aichi, Japan.

Background: Lumbar interbody fusion is a standard technique for treating degenerative lumbar disorders involving instability. Due to its invasiveness, a minimally invasive technique, extraforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (ELIF), was introduced. On surgically approaching posterolaterally, the posterior muscles and spinal canal are barely invaded.

Wuwei Qingzuo San (WWQZS), as a renowned traditional Mongolian patent medicine approved by Chinese State Food and Drug Administration, is used to treat hyperlipidemia, indigestion, and other ailments related to disorder of production of essence and phlegm, a typical abnormal metabolism of blood in traditional Mongolian medicine. A combination of network pharmacology and validation experiments in hyperlipidemia hamster is used to understand the potential mechanism of WWQZS for hypolipidemic effects, further for an integrated concept of traditional theory, bioactive constituents, and molecular mechanism for TMM. Through network pharmacology, we obtained 212 components, 219 predicted targets, and 349 known hyperlipidemia-related targets form public database and used Metascape to carry out enrichment analysis of 43 potential and 45 candidate targets to imply numerous BP concerned with metabolism of lipid, regulation of kinases and MF related to lipid binding, phosphatase binding, and receptor ligand activity that are involved in anti-hyperlipidemia.

Background: Exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may increase the risk of morbidity and mortality as well as pulmonary complications after surgery among patients with COPD. This meta-analysis was designed to explore the impact of moderate and severe exacerbations of COPD on health-related quality of life (HRQoL), utility, and lung function in patients with COPD.

Methods: The individual impacts of moderate and severe exacerbations on St George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), COPD Assessment Test (CAT), and EuroQoL-5 dimensions 5 level (EQ-5D-5L) scores, and on forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1) were assessed.

8-Oxoguanine (8-oxoG) is the most common DNA base modification in the mammalian genome, associated with oxidative stress. Here we analysed the alterations in the distribution of 8-oxoG across the entire murine genome, before and after an elevation of oxidative stress by the use of ferric nitrilotriacetate (Fe-NTA) as an oxidative stress inducer in the renal proximal tubules. We isolated DNA fragments containing 8-oxoGs with immunoprecipitation from the murine genome, and amplified them by PCR for a distribution analysis with microarray-based comparative genomic hybridisation.
