Objectives: To develop and validate a model for predicting the risk of early diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) based on systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: Data were analyzed from the risk factors of DFU with their corresponding risk ratio (RR) by meta-analysis. The DFU prediction model included statistically significant risk factors from the meta-analysis, all of which were scored by its weightings, and the prediction model was externally validated using a validation cohort from China.

Myocardial infarction can lead to ventricular remodeling and arrhythmia, which is closely related to nerve remodeling. Our previous study found that decoction (YQHX) can improve ventricular remodeling and reduce myocardial damage. Therefore, in this study, we observed the effect of YQHX on cardiac neural remodeling and cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and its possible mechanism.

Background: The identification and precise clavicle-coracoid drilling during coracoclavicular (CC) ligament reconstruction for acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation require a high level of experience and surgical skills. Furthermore, the improvement of flexible fixation, such as Endobutton techniques for CC ligament reconstructions is ongoing. We have developed a 3D printing technique navigation template for clavicle-coracoid drilling and a novel implant for the reconstruction.

Owing to the high degree of diversity of metabolite pools and complexity of spatial and temporal distributions within biological tissues, currently available methods for metabolite characterization face large challenges. In this study, the temporal and spatial distributions of the alkaloid components of the medicinal plant lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) were investigated over various growth phases. The results showed that alkaloid biosynthesis in lotus leaf is regulated by development and that there is maximum accumulation of alkaloids when the lotus leaf was completely expanded.

Background: Lumbar interbody fusion is a standard technique for treating degenerative lumbar disorders involving instability. Due to its invasiveness, a minimally invasive technique, extraforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (ELIF), was introduced. On surgically approaching posterolaterally, the posterior muscles and spinal canal are barely invaded.

Method: The FSI model, based on MRI data of an atherosclerosis patient, was used to simulate the deformations of the plaque and lumen during the process of two kinds of typical cSMT (the high-speed, low-amplitude spinal manipulation and the cervical rotatory manipulation). The biomechanical parameters were recorded, such as the highest wall shear stress (WSS), the maximum plaque wall stress (PWS), the wall tensile stress (Von mises stress, VWTS), and the strain.
Result: The max_WSS was 33.

Background: Ulcerative colitis, characterized by diarrhea, bloody stools and abdominal pain, is a chronic, idiopathic inflammatory disease of the colonic mucosa. In recent years, the incidence of ulcerative colitis presents an increasing trend year by year. Acupuncture, as a potential effective treatment for ulcerative colitis, is widely used in clinical practice.

Although the current craniocerebral medicine technology continues to advance, long-term bed rest and other complications have led to an insignificant decrease in the mortality rate of coma patients. It is not uncommon for patients with disturbance of consciousness caused by head injury in major hospitals.

To examine the short-term outcomes of modified load-sharing rip-stop repair (mLSRS) and suture-bridge repair (SB) for large rotator cuff tear. The clinical data of patients who underwent shoulder arthroscopy for large rotator cuff repair at Department of Orthopedic, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Wang Jing Hospital from January 2017 to December 2018 were collected. Totally 111 patients (39 in mLSRS group and 72 in SB group) were included in the study.

Wuwei Qingzuo San (WWQZS), as a renowned traditional Mongolian patent medicine approved by Chinese State Food and Drug Administration, is used to treat hyperlipidemia, indigestion, and other ailments related to disorder of production of essence and phlegm, a typical abnormal metabolism of blood in traditional Mongolian medicine. A combination of network pharmacology and validation experiments in hyperlipidemia hamster is used to understand the potential mechanism of WWQZS for hypolipidemic effects, further for an integrated concept of traditional theory, bioactive constituents, and molecular mechanism for TMM. Through network pharmacology, we obtained 212 components, 219 predicted targets, and 349 known hyperlipidemia-related targets form public database and used Metascape to carry out enrichment analysis of 43 potential and 45 candidate targets to imply numerous BP concerned with metabolism of lipid, regulation of kinases and MF related to lipid binding, phosphatase binding, and receptor ligand activity that are involved in anti-hyperlipidemia.

Background: Exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may increase the risk of morbidity and mortality as well as pulmonary complications after surgery among patients with COPD. This meta-analysis was designed to explore the impact of moderate and severe exacerbations of COPD on health-related quality of life (HRQoL), utility, and lung function in patients with COPD.
Methods: The individual impacts of moderate and severe exacerbations on St George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), COPD Assessment Test (CAT), and EuroQoL-5 dimensions 5 level (EQ-5D-5L) scores, and on forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1) were assessed.

In this study, we explored the pharmacological mechanisms of Huangqin Tang (HQT; a traditional Chinese medicine formula) in ulcerative colitis (UC) and provided evidence for potential roles HQT plays by gene expression profiling. The UC rat model was made via a compound method (trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid plus ethanol). After a ten-day treatment, microarray analysis was performed from the colon segment of the rats.

8-Oxoguanine (8-oxoG) is the most common DNA base modification in the mammalian genome, associated with oxidative stress. Here we analysed the alterations in the distribution of 8-oxoG across the entire murine genome, before and after an elevation of oxidative stress by the use of ferric nitrilotriacetate (Fe-NTA) as an oxidative stress inducer in the renal proximal tubules. We isolated DNA fragments containing 8-oxoGs with immunoprecipitation from the murine genome, and amplified them by PCR for a distribution analysis with microarray-based comparative genomic hybridisation.

Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) are emerging as preclinical models with promising values in personalized cancer therapy. The purpose of this study was to establish a living biobank of PDOs from patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to study the responses of PDOs to drugs. PDOs derived from NSCLC were cultured in vitro, and then treated with natural compounds including chelerythrine chloride, cantharidin, harmine, berberine and betaine with series of concentrations (0.

Exendin-4 is a protein of the GLP-1 family currently used to treat diabetes. Recently, a greater number of biological properties have been associated with the GLP-1 family. Our data shows that exendin-4 treatment significantly increases the cytoskeleton rearrangement, which leads to an increasingly differentiated phenotype and reduced cell migration.

Objective: To observe the effects and side effects of Pentazocine for postoperative intravenous analgesia in patients with lumbar herniation, and to investigate the difference of Pentazocine with different doses.
Methods: From January 2009 to December 2009, sixty patients undergone laminectomy and pedicle internal fixation, who using equal analgesic dosage of Pentazocine and Sulfentanil, were retrospectively analysed. The patients including 34 males and 26 females, aged 40 to 65 (average 59), weighted 60 to 80 kg (average 71 kg), ASA I-II, were divided into Sufentanil group and Pentazocine group I and Pentazocine group II, with 20 cases each.
