Zeb1, a key epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) regulator, has recently been found to be involved in M2 macrophage polarization in the tumor immune microenvironment, thereby promoting tumor development. However, the underlying mechanism of Zeb1-induced M2 macrophage polarization remains largely unexplored. To identify the potential role of Zeb1 in remodeling the tumor immune microenvironment in breast cancer, we crossed the floxed Zeb1 allele homozygously into PyMT mice to generate PyMT; (MMTV-Cre;PyMT; ) mice.

Objectives: To analyse the presentation, management and long-term outcomes of renal transplant patients who formed kidney stones in their allograft. The secondary aim was to identify risk factors for stone formation in this cohort.
Materials And Methods: Patient information from an institutional renal transplant database was used to identify individuals who both did and did not form kidney stones following renal transplantation.
Objective: To present an alternative technique called pseudo-flap for reconstructing long ureteral defects as an alternative to Boari flap. Despite being used for more than 70 years by urologists for tension-free reconstruction of distal and mid-ureteral defects, the Boari flap exhibits high complication rates, with an average of 27% (range 5.5%-30.

Unlabelled: Despite rules set forth by the National Resident Matching Program and American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), prohibited questions during the residency interview process are well documented. This study describes the prevalence of these encounters by surveying residency applicants to integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery (PRS) programs for the 2022 match cycle.
Methods: An anonymous 16-question REDCap survey was distributed to 2022 cycle applicants of a single PRS program.

Research shows that a diverse faculty improves academic, clinical, and research outcomes in higher education. Despite that, persons in minority groups, usually categorized by race or ethnicity, are underrepresented in academia (URiA). The Nutrition Obesity Research Centers (NORCs), supported by the NIDDK, hosted workshops on five separate days in September and October 2020.

Previously, we demonstrated that elevated myocardial S-glutathionylation of cMyBP-C correlates with diastolic dysfunction (DD) in animal models. In this study, we tested whether circulating S-glutathionylated cMyBP-C would be a biomarker for DD.

Bisphosphonate therapy reduces osteoporotic fracture risk and may be effective in minimizing bone loss associated with bariatric surgery. The global health and economic impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has rocked our communities and way of life. With millions infected around the globe, and hundreds of thousands of lives lost, there has been a paradigm shift in how clinicians evaluate and care for patients in multiple different types of healthcare settings. Many patients are reluctant to seek medical attention for cardiovascular illnesses, and late presentations of acute cardiac issues are raising the morbidity and mortality for treatable cardiac conditions.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death and disability worldwide. While substantial gains have been made in reducing cardiovascular mortality, future projections suggest that we have reached a nadir and may be at an inflection point, given the rising tide of obesity and diabetes. Evaluation and management of plasma lipids is central to the prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

For clinical development of AgNP-based therapeutics, it will be necessary to clearly define the specific physicochemical features of the nanoparticles that will be used, and to tie these properties to biological outcomes. To fill this knowledge gap, we performed thorough structure/function, mechanistic, safety, and efficacy studies to assess the potential for AgNPs to treat TNBC.

Methods and Results In a prospective, continuously recruited cohort of 95 patients scheduled to receive potentially cardiotoxic chemotherapy for breast cancer, lymphoma, or soft tissue sarcoma, measures of left ventricular end-diastolic volume, LVESV, global circumferential strain, and LVEF were acquired via cardiac magnetic resonance imaging before and then 3 and 24 months after initiating treatment by individuals blinded to all patient identifiers. Participants had an average age of 54±15 years; 68% were women, and 82% were of white race.

We describe the landscape of surgical management across the United States, perioperative risk factors, and surgical outcomes in patients with T13 and T18. Methods and Results Patients in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Congenital Heart Surgery Database with T13 and T18 who underwent cardiac surgery (2010-2017) were included.

Objectives: To perform a phase 2, open-label, dose-escalation study to assess the efficacy and safety of daxibotulinumtoxinA in cervical dystonia.
Methods: Subjects with moderate-to-severe isolated cervical dystonia were enrolled in sequential cohorts to receive a single open-label, intramuscular dose of injectable daxibotulinumtoxinA of up to 200 U ( 12), 200-300 U ( 12), or 300-450 U ( 13; https://clinicaltrials.
Objectives: Emergency medicine (EM) trainees are expected to learn to provide acute care for patients of all ages. The American Council for Graduate Medical Education provides some guidance on topics related to caring for pediatric patients; however, education about pediatric topics varies across residency programs. The goal of this project was to develop a consensus curriculum for teaching pediatric emergency care.
