The KRAS mutation was believed to be locked in a GTP-bound form, rendering it fully active. However, recent studies have indicated that the presence of mutant KRAS alone is insufficient; it requires additional activation through inflammatory stimuli to effectively drive the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). It remains unclear to what extent RAS activation occurs during the development of PDAC in the context of inflammation.

This study presents a novel synthesis of self-standing MoP and MoN heterostructured electrocatalysts with enhanced stability and catalytic performance. Facilitated by the controlled phase and interfacial microstructure, the seamless structures of these catalysts minimize internal resistivity and prevent local corrosion, contributing to increased stability. The chemical synthesis proceeds with an etching step to activate the surface, followed by phosphor-nitriding in a chemical vapor deposition chamber to produce MoP-MoN@Mo heterostructured electrocatalysts.

Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterized by persistent social interaction impairments and is male-biased in prevalence. We have established naturally occurring low sociality in male rhesus monkeys as a model for the social features of ASD. Low-social male monkeys exhibit reduced social interactions and increased autistic-like trait burden, with both measures highly correlated and strongly linked to low cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) arginine vasopressin (AVP) concentration.

In medicine, it is desirable for clinicians to be able to restore function and imbue novel function into selected cells for therapy and disease prevention. Cells damaged by disease, injury, or aging could be programmed to restore normal or lost functions, such as retinal cells in inherited blindness and neuronal cells in Alzheimer's disease. Cells could also be genetically programmed with novel functions such as immune cells expressing synthetic chimeric antigen receptors for immunotherapy.

DDX1 is a human protein which belongs to the DEAD-box protein family of enzymes and is involved in various stages of RNA metabolism from transcription to decay. Many members of the DEAD-box family of enzymes use the energy of ATP binding and hydrolysis to perform their cellular functions. On the other hand, a few members of the DEAD-box family of enzymes bind and/or hydrolyze other nucleotides in addition to ATP.
