Minimally invasive dentistry (MID) has revolutionized pediatric dental care by emphasizing the preservation of healthy tooth structures, reducing treatment-related trauma, and improving patient compliance. This narrative review explores advancements in MID techniques, including silver diamine fluoride (SDF), resin infiltration, atraumatic restorative treatment (ART), bioactive materials, laser-assisted therapies, and three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies. These approaches prioritize early diagnosis, prevention, and conservative management, aligning with patient-centered and sustainable practices.

: The objective of this study was to compare the trueness and precision of three intraoral scanners (IOSs) for the digitization of dentate and edentulous maxillectomy and mandibulectomy defects in artificial models. Four representative defect models-a dentate and an edentulous maxillectomy model and a dentate and an edentulous mandibulectomy model-were used for digital scanning. After a reference scan of each model, they were scanned with three IOSs: CEREC AC Omnicam, True Definition, and cara TRIOS 3.

This study evaluated the bone-to-implant contact (BIC) of various surface-treated dental implants using high-resolution micro-CT in rabbit bone, focusing on the effects of different treatments on osseointegration and implant stability before and after bone demineralization. Six male New Zealand White rabbits were used. Four implant types were tested: machined surface with anodizing, only etching, sandblasting with AlO + etching, and sandblasting with TiO + etching.

The newest technology allows the medical industry to manufacture innovative products such as milled titanium prosthodontic parts in an implant for a screw-retained suprastructure. In the literature, there are some articles on the clinical usage of subperiosteal implants, but none of these publications, either in PubMed or Google Scholar, thoroughly describe the workflow for the design and manufacture of individual implants for maxillofacial surgery with milled threads for a screw-retained prosthodontic bridge. The aim of the article is to present a step-by-step method of producing personalized implants, from the first steps of production to the implantation of the final product.

BACKGROUND In the early 1980s, Brånemark described the use of cylindrical titanium dental implants integrated with bone. Since then, significant advances in dental implant technology have resulted in improved function and cosmetic appearance. This report describes an 87-year-old woman with a 31-year history of revision implant dentistry, initially for severe alveolar atrophy of the premolar and upper molar teeth.

Background: The aim of this case study is to present the rationality and scientific evidence of a new design for a double (DA) and triple (TA) dental abutment-implant with their specific new concept of biodynamic optimized peri-implant tissue (BOPiT).
Methods: The innovative design of these abutments with a paraboloid geometry was based on BOPiT, simultaneously involving the principles of mechanobiology, biotensegrity, and mechanotransduction. Thus, 37 consecutive individuals/43 cases rehabilitated with single dental implant using the innovative DA (n = 28) and TA (n = 15) on 43 implants were included in this case study.

Background: This prospective cohort study aimed to assess the predictability and survival rates of dental implant treatment in edentulous patients while identifying potential factors contributing to implant failure.
Material And Methods: A total of 80 outpatients, receiving 166 dental implants between September 2015 and November 2017 in two private dental clinics, were included in this study. Patient and implant characteristics, surgical procedures, primary stability, prosthetic rehabilitation, failure analysis, and survival rates were analyzed.

Purpose: To investigate whether inexperienced users applying a static navigation system can perform in-vitro a fully guided implant placement protocol and achieve similar results in terms of accuracy compared to experienced clinicians.
Methods: Based on 36 identical resin models, a computer-assisted implant planning was performed and a surgical guide was produced accordingly. Three study groups were composed with 12 operators, each: control group with experienced surgeons (DOC), test group 1 with dental technicians (TEC) and test group 2 with non-specialists (OFC).

Oculocardiac reflex (OCR), presenting as bradycardia and asystole, is a potential intraoperative complication that may occur during maxillofacial trauma surgery. Bradycardia is the most common symptom of this phenomenon. Surgeons should be aware of its long-term effects, such as arrhythmias and even cardiac arrest.

The conventional approach for addressing bone defects and stubborn non-unions typically involves the use of autogenous bone grafts. Nevertheless, obtaining these grafts can be challenging, and the procedure can lead to significant morbidity. Three primary treatment strategies for managing bone defects and non-unions prove resistant to conventional treatments: synthetic bone graft substitutes (BGS), a combination of BGS with bioactive molecules, and the use of BGS in conjunction with stem cells.

Introduction: Oral cancer (OC) is a disease with a high mortality rate due to its late recognition. Since the oral cavity is easily accessible for visual inspection, enabling early diagnosis, the education of healthcare workers about preventive oral examinations is critical. This research aimed to assess the level of participants' OC knowledge, as well as to raise awareness about this diagnosis.
