Background: Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSU) is frequently used by physical therapists and radiologists to improve specific diagnosis in rotator cuff related pathology. The evaluation of the rotator cable seems to be important as stabilizing structure when cuff tears occur.

Impact of the first wave of the SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 pandemic on digestive surgical activities: a Belgian National Survey.

Background: Belgium was one of the first European countries affected by the first wave of the Covid-19 epidemic after Italy and France and has the highest rate of Covid-19-related deaths. Very few studies have evaluated the impact of the pandemic on surgical activity on a large scale. The primary objective of this national survey was to evaluate the impact of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic on surgical activities (elective non-oncological and oncological) in Belgian hospitals.

Analysis of regional wall motion during contrast-enhanced dobutamine stress echocardiography: effect of contrast imaging settings.

Aims: Myocardial contrast perfusion echocardiography (MCE) allows simultaneous assessment of perfusion and function. However, low frame rate during MCE may reduce the viewer's ability to discern contractile dysfunction. This study sought to compare MCE and left ventricular opacification (LVO) settings with regard to wall motion abnormalities (WMA) at rest and during dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE).

S-100 protein as early predictor of regaining consciousness after out of hospital cardiac arrest.

Background And Purpose: Patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest (CA) have a high mortality rate. Prognostic evaluation based on clinical observations is uncertain and would benefit from the use of biochemical markers of hypoxic brain damage. The purpose of the study was to validate the use of the serum astroglial protein S-100 levels at admission with regard to regaining consciousness after out of hospital CA.

MRI of extrapancreatic gastrinomas.

Preoperative diagnosis of gastrinoma--especially extrapancreatic gastrinoma--is very difficult. At the moment octreotide scintigraphy is considered the method of choice to detect gastrinomas. However, MRI may play a major role in the diagnostic imaging of gastrinoma.

Acute pneumoperitoneum without peritonitis. A case report.

An uncommon case of pneumoperitoneum without peritonitis, related to small bowel diverticulosis is presented. Pneumoperitoneum is usually a life-threatening incident, most frequently attributed to a perforated viscus and generally requiring emergency surgery. Non surgical pneumoperitoneum, however, is known to be caused by a variety of pathological and non pathological entities.

A vein of Galen aneurysm with an abnormal drain system: MRI findings.

The case of a premature girl with a vein of Galen aneurysm is reported. The lesion was detected by ultrasonography. MRI provided complete anatomical information, obviating the need for initial angiography for preoperative evaluation of the malformation.

[Which model of psychotherapeutic training for which psychiatric practice?].

The author defends the viewpoint that, in opposition to the legislator, a training in psychotherapy must be maintained as part of the residency in psychiatry. He makes a review of existing training models and proposes an "integrative" training model, open to the great psychotherapeutical orientations.

Mutagenic activity of dichloroethylamino derivatives of nitronaphthofuran and some nitrobenzofurans in the Salmonella/microsome assay.

The mutagenic activity of five dichloroethylamino 2-nitrobenzofuran derivatives and one dichloroethylamino 2-nitronaphthofuran derivative was analysed in the Salmonella/microsome assay. We investigated the influence of the position of the dichloroethylamino and/or the methoxy groups on the mutagenic activity of these nitro arenofurans in S. typhimurium strain TA100 and its variant TA100NR, deficient in nitroreductase.
