Objectives: To evaluate efficacy, safety, and tolerability of the treatment with teberif/interferon β-1a, to analyze safety, tolerability and dynamics of key efficacy variables after switching from referent drug rebif to biosimilar teberif in patients with remitting multiple sclerosis (RMS).
Material And Methods: During the main period of the international multicenter randomized study patients were randomized to receive treatment with teberif for 52 weeks, or rebif for 52 weeks, or placebo for 16 weeks to evaluate efficacy and safety of treatment. After the main study period, patients were group-independently switched to take open-label teberif treatment during the next 48 weeks.

The aim of the study was to investigate the age-related variability of the proliferative activity of fibroblasts of the paravasal connective tissue of the hollow and parenchymal organs of men corpses of the first period of mature age, elderly and senile age by detecting the expression of the Ki-67 protein (MIB-1 clone) and calculating the proliferation index. The results showed that in the first period of mature age, the proliferation index is almost at the same level in the paravasal tissue cells of the parenchymal and hollow organs of the digestive tract, while the fibroblasts of the paravasal tissue of the heart have the lowest proliferation activity among all the organs studied. With age, the intensity of cell proliferation decreases, moreover, at the age of more than 75 years, a distinct organ specificity is revealed.

The peculiarities in expression of transport proteins and the proteins implicated in the control of glycolysis by the cellular components of neurovascular units were examined in animals of different age under normal conditions and after modeled perinatal stress or hypoxic brain injury. In both cases, the specialties in expression of transport proteins in ontogenesis were revealed. The perinatal hypoxic brain injury resulted in up-regulation of MCT1, MCT4, and GLUT4 expression in endotheliocytes of hippocampal microvessels accompanied by transient elevation of HIF-1α and GSK3 expression.

We compared the intensity of apoptosis in the peri-infarction area of the brain after isolated and combined exposure to hypoxia and hypercapnia prior to focal ischemic stroke modeling. Hypoxia and hypercapnia reduced the number of TUNEL-positive cells in the peri-infarction area, and their combination was most effective in comparison with effects of isolated exposures. The maximum neuroprotective effect of combined exposure to hypoxia and hypercapnia in comparison with isolated exposures was determined by inhibition of apoptosis in the peri-infarction zone.

We compared the results of gene molecular and immunocytochemical studies of β-catenin and E-cadherin in different variants of nodular thyroid disease (nodular colloid goiter, follicular thyroid adenocarcinoma, papillary thyroid cancer) and revealed changes of the function of the E-cadherin/β-catenin complex leading to switching from adhesion function of β-catenin in nodular colloid goiter to predominantly transcriptional activity in papillary carcinoma. The results confirm the important role of disturbances in E-cadherin-β-catenin interactions in the mechanisms of malignant transformation of follicular epithelium.

Introduction: High incidence of necrotic and suppurative complications is feature of acute post-traumatic pancreatitis. Severe trauma of the pancreas and post-traumatic pancreatitis lead to depressurization of ductal system that requires adequate drainage of damaged area and retroperitoneal fat.
Material And Methods: 95 patients in group 1 received standardized treatment.

Impulse control disorders (ICDs), including compulsive gambling, buying, sexual behavior, and eating, are a serious and increasingly recognized psychiatric complication in Parkinson's disease (PD). ICDs have been most closely related to the use of dopamine agonists (DAs), perhaps more so at higher doses. Possible predictor's for ICDs include male sex, younger age and younger age at PD onset, use of dopaminergic agents.

Glutamine transporter protein SLC1A5 and glutamate transporter protein EAAT2 responsible for cell-cell communication and energetic coupling were studied using in vitro model of multicellular neurovascular unit consisting of astrocytes, neurons, and endotheliocytes under standard conditions and during chemical hypoxia in vitro. Hypoxic damage to the neurovascular unit cells increased the number of SLC1A5-expressing cells and reduced the number of EAAT2-expressing astrocytes. Metabolic uncoupling in the neurovascular unit cells under hypoxic conditions resulted from abnormal expression of glutamine and glutamate transporter proteins, which is indicative of impaired glutamine and glutamate transport.

For evaluation lipid peroxidation and antioxidant status of red blood cells, 150 patients with locally advanced renal cell carcinoma were examined. The content of conjugated dienes, MDA, and reduced glutathione and activities of SOD, catalase, and glutathione metabolism enzymes were determined. It was found that the balance between pro- and anti-oxidants in patients with kidney cancer differed significantly from that of healthy people and little changed during the observation.

Experiments on the model of thermal skin burn in rats showed that the use of wound dressing based on collagen-chitosan complex Kollakhit-Bol in local treatment of grade IIIb skin burns increased healing rate by accelerating the formation of granulation and fibrous connective tissues and reducing crust thickness in comparison with Kollakhit coating. Kollakhit-Bol provided targeted stimulation of reparative processes in the treatment of grade IIIb burns by creating favorable conditions for grafting full thickness skin transplant or dermal-epidermal skin equivalent. In the topical treatment of thermal burn, Kollakhit-Bol application shortened the phases of alteration and exudation and accelerated transition to the productive phase of the inflammatory process with phagocytosis and neoangiogenesis activation.

Experiment on C57Bl/6 mice with modeled skin melanoma showed that selective inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase-9 increased lifetime and reduced the number of PCNA(+) tumor cells and intensity of neoangiogenesis. Inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase-9 prevented tumor necrosis. The results suggest that matrix metalloproteinase-9 is involved not only in the regulation of extracellular matrix degradation, but also in the processes of cell proliferation and neoangiogenesis in skin melanoma.
