Objective: To evaluate the effect of the preventive course of drinking mineral water enriched with selenium on the processes of resistance to the damaging action of reversible occlusion of the anterior mesenteric artery based on the comparison of intestinal morphological changes in the experiment.

Material And Methods: There has been modeled ischemic reperfusion injury of the intestinal wall according to H. Ikeda and co-authors using reversible occlusion of the anterior mesenteric artery with 33 outbred male rats.

[Natural therapeutic factors in medical rehabilitation of patients with post-COVID syndrome].

Cytotoxic and Luminescent Properties of Novel Organotin Complexes with Chelating Antioxidant Ligand.

A novel polydentate chelating antioxidant ligand and series of organotin complexes on its base were synthesized and characterized by NMR H, C, Sn, IR spectroscopy, X-ray, and elemental analysis. Their antioxidant activity was evaluated in DPPH and NBT-tests, and as lipoxygenase inhibitory activity. It was shown that ligand alone is a radical scavenger, while introducing tin in the structure of the compound significantly decreases its activity.

Synthesis, structure, and biological activity of 4-hetaryl-2-pyrrolidones containing a pyrazole ring.

Unlabelled: Single diastereomers of 4-hetaryl-2-pyrrolidone-3(5)-carbo- and 2-[4-hetaryl-2-pyrrolidon-1-yl]acetohydrazides were used in reactions with 2,4-pentanedione, providing (3,4)-3-, (4,5)-5-(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazole-1-carbonyl)- and 1-[2-(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazol-1-yl)-2-oxoethyl]-4-hetaryl-2-pyrrolidones. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by spectral methods and X-ray structural analysis. Some of the obtained compounds were shown to possess nootropic and anxiolytic activity.

Design, Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of Novel C,C-Quinoxaline Derivatives as Promising Anxiolytic Agents.

A new series of quinoxaline derivatives, -, were synthesized and their anxiolytic potential was evaluated in vivo using elevated plus maze (EPM), open field (OF) and light-dark box (LDB) techniques. Pyrimidine thioethers: A novel class of antidepressant agents, endowed with anxiolytic, performance enhancing and nootropic activity.

A series of new pyrimidine thioethers, recognized as the key intermediates in the synthesis of S-DABO antivirals, were prepared and evaluated both in vivo and in silico. The purpose of this evaluation was to find novel structural analogues of the known antihypoxic drug Isothiobarbamine endowed with improved pharmacological profile. The in vivo studies led to the identification of compounds 5c, 5e, and 5f endowed with antidepressant/anxiolytic, performance enhancing, and nootropic properties.

[Diagnostic difficulties in a patient with a combined gunshot injury involving non-penetrating abdominal wound and injury of superficial femoral artery].

Non-penetrating gunshot abdominal wounds are rare in peacetime and mainly caused by firearm traumatic weapons. The main therapeutic measure in this case is primary surgical debridement with adequate drainage. At the same time, such injuries may be accompanied by damage to internal organs.

Guanidine Derivatives of Quinazoline-2,4(1,3)-Dione as NHE-1 Inhibitors and Anti-Inflammatory Agents.

Quinazolines are a rich source of bioactive compounds. Previously, we showed NHE-1 inhibitory, anti-inflammatory, antiplatelet, intraocular pressure lowering, and antiglycating activity for a series of quinazoline-2,4(1,3)-diones and quinazoline-4(3)-one guanidine derivatives. In the present work, novel N1,N3-bis-substituted quinazoline-2,4(1,3)-dione derivatives bearing two guanidine moieties were synthesized and pharmacologically profiled.

This paper summarizes the data from updated international protocols and guidelines for diagnosis of transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). The invasive and non-invasive diagnosis techniques and their combinations are briefly reviewed; the evidentiary foundations for each diagnostic option and tool are analyzed. The paper describes a customized algorithm for sequential diagnosis and differential diagnosis of patients with suspected ATTR-CM with allowance for the combination of clinical signs and diagnostic findings.

At an international online expert meeting held on September 16, 2021, the results of the empagliflozin research program EMPA-REG Outcome, EMPEROR-Reduced and EMPEROR-Preserved were reviewed. We analyzed cardiovascular and renal outcomes during the treatment with empagliflozin in patients with chronic heart failure, regardless of the presence of type 2 diabetes mellitus. [Combined therapy of acute and recurrent cystitis in women].

Lower urinary tract infection (LUTI) is one of the most common causes for a large number of females of different ages to visit a urologist and other physicians. LUTI is often a chronic condition, and its symptoms can sometimes persist throughout live, leading to a serious deterioration in the quality of life. Three clinical cases of the effective treatment of women with recurrent UTI with Phytolysin paste* and Phytolysin capsules as part of combined therapy are presented in the article.

Antioxidant and anti-apoptotic effects of tocotrienol-rich fraction against streptozotocin-induced diabetic retinopathy in rats.

Oxidative stress, a key player in diabetic retinopathy (DR), is associated with retinal cell apoptosis. This study investigated the effect of tocotrienol-rich fraction (TRF), a potent antioxidant, towards visual behaviour, retinal morphology, cells apoptosis and redox status in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced DR rats. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 3 groups: non-diabetic (N), was injected with citrate buffer intraperitoneally, diabetic treated with vehicle (DV), and diabetic treated with TRF (DT), were injected with STZ intraperitoneally (55 mg/kg) to induce diabetes.
