Study Question: How should premature/primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) be diagnosed and managed based on the best available evidence from published literature?
Summary Answer: The current guideline provides 145 recommendations on symptoms, diagnosis, causation, sequelae, and treatment of POI.
What Is Known Already: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) presents a significant challenge to women's health, with far-reaching implications, both physically and emotionally. The potential implications include adverse effects on quality of life; fertility; and bone, cardiovascular, and cognitive health.

Background: People with HIV (PWH) experience a higher burden of ageing-associated comorbidities, the underlying mechanisms of which remain to be fully elucidated. We aimed to identify profiles based on immune, inflammatory, and ageing biomarkers in blood from PWH and controls, and explore their association with total comorbidities over time.
Methods: Latent profile analysis was used to construct biomarker profiles in AGEhIV cohort participants (94 with well-controlled HIV on antiretroviral therapy (ART) and 95 controls without HIV) using baseline measurements of selected biomarkers.

Objectives: Globally, there is a lack of evidence regarding access to and utilisation of antigen rapid diagnostic tests (Ag-RDTs). This might hinder public health interventions to increase testing. We conducted a survey to understand access to and utilisation of COVID-19 Ag-RDT among residents in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Acute retinal necrosis (ARN) is a serious, sight-threatening condition characterized by rapidly progressive necrotizing retinitis, most commonly caused by varicella-zoster virus and herpes simplex virus. We report an atypical case of ARN in a 57-year-old immunocompetent male, initially misdiagnosed as Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease. This case highlights the challenges in the early differential diagnosis of infectious and non-infectious uveitis.

A new species of cuterebrine rodent bot fly, Cuterebra yanayacui sp. nov., is described from the cloud forest of Ecuador, and it is argued that the species mimics a range of aculeate hymenopterans, including euglossine orchid bees of the genera Eufriesea Cockerell and Eulaema Lepeletier and bumble bees of the subgenus Cullumanobombus Vogt.

Motor-cognitive training and exergaming often only reach low-to-medium intensities that limits their training efficiency. This study evaluated the physiological profile of different exercises on a novel motor-cognitive training technology designed to cover a broad range of exercise intensities. Twenty-six healthy trained adults (17 males, 23.

In this study, standard 2D lung lobe quantification is compared with two 3D lung lobe quantification software tools to investigate the clinical benefit of a 3D approach. The accuracy of 2D versus 3D lung lobe quantification is evaluated based on the calculated numerical ventilation-perfusion ratio (VQR) using a receiver operating curve (ROC) analysis.A study group of 50 consecutive patients underwent a planar lung scintigraphy (anterior/posterior) as well as ventilation/perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT/CT) to exclude acute pulmonary embolism.

Introduction: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is among the most important skills in clinical practice. Errors can happen here, just like everywhere, and potentially have severe consequences. Two common error handling strategies known from practice are Error Management (EM) and Error Avoidance (EA).

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating condition often accompanied by significant functional impairments affecting quality of life and well-being. While Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a leading, evidence-based psychotherapy for PTSD, demonstrating substantial efficacy in core symptom reduction, its impact on psychosocial functioning is less well-established. The Personalizing Cognitive Processing Therapy with a Case Formulation Approach (Personalizing Approaches to Therapy: PATh) study aims to enhance CPT by explicitly targeting functional impairments and idiosyncratic challenges to optimal therapy outcomes (COTOs), comparing its efficacy against standard CPT in improving psychosocial functioning, quality of life, well-being, and core PTSD and depression symptoms.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) poses a significant challenge for patients ineligible for surgical resection or liver transplantation. Local therapies like Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) are crucial for those with liver-limited disease. Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) is a potential biomarker for liver function.

The correlation between circulating microbes and sepsis as well as proinflammatory diseases is increasingly gaining recognition. However, the detection of microbes' cell-free DNA (cfDNA), which exist at concentrations of a billion times lower than blood proteins, poses a significant challenge for early disease detection. Here, we present Nano mechanics combined with highly sensitive readout sequences to address the challenges of ultralow counts of disease biomarkers, thus enabling robust quantitative monitoring of chronic medical conditions at different stages of human disease progression.

Purpose: The course of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease is typically assessed qualitatively using indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) and enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT). However, a quantitative approach could improve accuracy and objectivity. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical value of the automated measurement capabilities of swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) to measure choroidal thickness (quantitative approach) in chronic VKH.

The exponential growth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) in soil-crop systems in recent years has posed a great challenge to ecological security and human health. While many studies have documented the residues of ARGs in soils and crops, but little is known about who drives the proliferation of ARGs in farming systems and what their underlying mechanisms are. Herein, we explored the occurrence and proliferating behavior of ARGs in soil-crop environments in terms of root secretions and plant volatiles.

Uveitis, an ocular autoimmune disease that poses a significant threat to vision, is caused by immune cells erroneously attacking retinal cells and currently lacks specific and effective therapeutic interventions. The CXC chemokine receptor 3 (CXCR3) facilitates the migration of immune cells to sites of inflammation. AMG487, a CXCR3 antagonist, holds potential for treating autoimmune diseases by blocking immunes cells chemotaxis.

Decades of research have demonstrated the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapies (CBTs) for a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses, resulting in the inclusion of CBT as a first-line evidence-based practice (EBP) in treatment guidelines for mood and anxiety disorders. However, some research suggests that many providers do not implement EBPs as intended. Ongoing quality monitoring is needed to support EBP implementation and sustainability, but "gold standard" fidelity monitoring (e.
