It is known that particles released from the prosthesis due to wear after joint replacement surgery affect the lymphatic system. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) technique on pain, edema, and blood lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels in the early period of lymphatic transport affected by total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Twenty-four patients who underwent TKA were randomly allocated (control: 12; MLD: 12).

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the leading causes of chronic kidney disease and accounts for 50%-75% of mortality following renal pathologies or organ transplantation. Ischemia‒reperfusion injury (IRI) involves an interrupted blood supply to organs and the kidney; IRI exacerbates AKI development. Owing to several pharmacological treatment methods, AKI still has a poor prognosis, and novel therapeutic options are needed.

Objective: Intranasal analgesic sprays represent a safe, efficacious method for pain relief, with a shorter working time compared to oral painkillers. This study aimed to develop nasal sprays using commonly available over-the-counter analgesics, providing an alternative treatment option that is more convenient and potentially more effective in managing pain, particularly in pediatric patients.
Methods: Three different nasal spray formulations with the contents of diclofenac sodium, ibuprofen, and paracetamol were created, and characterization studies were completed.

Objective: This study evaluates the acute therapeutic effect of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD).
Methods: Eighty-two individuals (164 upper limbs) participating in the study were divided into two groups: MLD and sham. Before and after treatment, measurements of pressure pain threshold (PPT), pain tolerance, muscle strength (using a hand dynamometer and pinchmeter), and two-point discrimination (2PD) with an esthesiometer were conducted.

In this study, it was aimed to assess the microstructural changes in the main central auditory pathway in cases with subjective tinnitus. In total, 101 subjects (52 cases with bilateral subjective non-pulsatile tinnitus and 49 healthy cases as the control group) were included in the study. Participants underwent pure tone audiogram and Diffusion Tensor Imaging-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DTI-MRI) examination with a 3 Tesla MRI device.

Background: This study is a randomized controlled, biopsychosocial study investigating the effectiveness of pain neuroscience education (PNE) and motor imagery-based exercise protocol (MIEP) on fibromyalgia pain.
Methods: Our study has four groups (MIEP n = 12, PNE n = 12, MIEP + PNE n = 14, Control n = 12) and all participants (n = 50) consist of patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia with chronic back pain. The primary outcome measure was pain intensity, and secondary outcome measures were beliefs, kinesiophobia, anxiety-depression, cognitive-mood, self-esteem, and body awareness.

Introduction: Parkinson disease is the world's second most prevalent neurological disease. In this disease, intracytoplasmic neuronal inclusions are observed in enteric neurons in the gastrointestinal tract, and the composition of the intestinal microbiome is altered. These changes correlate with the motor phenotype.

We compared the relationships between pain coping levels and pain, functional capacity, and disability among 48 patients with fibromyalgia and 48 healthy control participants. Specific characteristics of those diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome were documented. Participants were evaluated with the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Pain Coping Scale (PCQ), Pain Disability Index (PDI), and Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ).

This research aims to assess the concentration of metals in human and canine placentas from the same geographic area and to investigate how these metal levels influence gene expression within the placenta. Placentas of 25 dogs and 60 women who had recently given birth residing in Ankara, Turkey were collected and subjected to metal analysis using ICP-OES. Placentas with detectable metal levels underwent further examination including Next Generation Sequencing, transcriptional analysis, single nucleotide polymorphism investigation, and extensive scrutiny across various groups.

Introduction: This study purpose of determining the short-term effects of kinesio taping on drooling in children with cerebral palsy (CP).
Methods: CP were randomly divided into 3 groups as the kinesio tape ( = 16), sham tape ( = 16), and control ( = 16) groups. The drooling severity and frequency were assessed with the Drooling Severity and Frequency Scale, and the amount of saliva was measured by the 5-minute drooling quotient.

The placental cholinergic system; known as an important factor in intracellular metabolic activities, regulation of placental vascular tone, placental development, and neurotransmission; can be affected by persistent organic pesticides, particularly organochlorine pesticides(OCPs), which can influence various epigenetic regulations and molecular pathways. Although OCPs are legally prohibited, trace amounts of the persistent dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane(DDT) are still found in the environment, making prenatal exposure inevitable. In this study, the effects of 2,4'-DDT and 4,4'-DDT; and its breakdown product 4,4'-DDE in the environment on placental cholinergic system were evaluated with regards to cholinergic genes.

Packaging plays an important role in protecting foodstuffs against physicochemical damage and microbial activity, as well as extending shelf life. In recent years, petrochemical compounds that cause environmental pollution and contamination due to their non-biodegradability have been replaced by biocompatible polymer-based films in the food packaging industry. Due to aromatic essential oils (EO), various biological activities, and their potential to replace chemical preservatives in the field of food preservation, Star Anise essential oil, which has properties, such as free radical scavenger, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral, was used as an additive in this study.

Objectives: In Turkey, the rate of organ donations has not reached the desired level. Although the vital importance of organ transplantation is known, the low participation in organ donation is an issue that needs to be examined meticulously. Organ donation decisions can be affected by demographic factors, such as family, personality traits, and religion and by psychological factors, such as attitude, intention, and sacrifice.

The effect of the grain morphology on the photoluminescence, charge transfer band, and decay properties was investigated by Eu, B ( = 10 mol%, = 0, 5, 15, 30, 50, 70, and 100 mol%) co-doped BaTaO ceramics fabricated by solid-state reaction. X-ray diffractions of the samples showed that the single-phase structure persisted up to 100 mol% and there was an improvement in crystallinity with increasing B concentration. SEM micrographs of the Eu, B co-doped grains showed that the flux effect of boron promotes grain growth and elongated grain shape.

The extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) - mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Heat Shock Protein 90 (HSP90) is required to activate proto-oncogenic protein kinases and promotes tumor growth through anti-apoptotic effects on A549-non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Therefore, deregulation of the ERK-MAPK pathway and abnormal expression of HSP90 are reasonably frequent events in NSCLC.
