Fractional CO Laser Treatment of the Vestibule for Patients with Vestibulodynia and Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause: A Pilot Study.

Introduction: Chronic vulvar pain and burning remains one of the most perplexing problems faced by practicing gynecologists.

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the application of micro-ablative fractional CO laser to the vulvar vestibule in the management of patients with vulvar pain from vestibulodynia or genitourinary syndrome of menopause.

Methods: Patients (N = 70) underwent fractional micro-ablative CO laser treatment for vestibular pain plus vestibulodynia (n = 37) or genitourinary syndrome of menopause (n = 33).

TVT for the treatment of urodynamic stress incontinence: Efficacy and adverse effects at 13-year follow-up.

Aim: To assess long-term subjective, objective, and urodynamic outcomes of retropubic mid-urethral slings at 13-year follow-up.

Methods: This was a prospective observational study. Consecutive women with proven urodynamic stress incontinence were treated with standard retropubic tension free vaginal tape (TVT).

Introduction: Pelvic serous carcinomas (PSCs) are a controversial entity, which mostly comprise fallopian tube carcinoma (FTC), primary peritoneal carcinoma (PPC) and serous ovarian carcinoma (OC). Despite incremental attention towards understanding pelvic serous carcinogenesis, the gold standard treatment and survival rates have not substantially changed in these last decades.

The recently developed International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Bladder Diary is the first psychometrically validated urinary diary. It provides clinicians and researchers with an invaluable diagnostic tool that will contribute to improved management of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms, and can now be considered the gold standard of bladder diaries.
