Background: Differential diagnosis between uterine leiomyomas and sarcomas is challenging. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) represents the second-line diagnostic method after ultrasound for the assessment of uterine masses.

Objectives: To assess the accuracy of MRI in the differential diagnosis between uterine leiomyomas and sarcomas.

Multimodality Imaging Approach to Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection.

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) refers to the spontaneous separation of the layers of the vessel wall caused by intramural hemorrhage, with or without an intimal tear. The "typical" SCAD patient is a middle-aged woman with few traditional cardiovascular risk factors, and it's frequently associated with pregnancy. Because of its low incidence, its pathophysiology is not fully understood.

One-lung ventilation in obese patients undergoing thoracoscopic lobectomy for lung cancer.

Background: We evaluated the safety and feasibility of one-lung ventilation in obese patients undergoing thoracoscopic lobectomy and whether obesity affected peri- and postoperative outcomes.

Methods: This was a retrospective single center study including consecutive patients undergoing thoracoscopic lobectomy between October 2019 and February 2022. Obese patients were statistically compared to a control group to evaluate any differences in relation to one-lung ventilation and peri- and postoperative outcomes.

Minimally invasive anatomic reconstruction of the anterolateral ligament with ipsilateral gracilis tendon: a kinematic in-vitro study.

Purpose: The anterolateral ligament (ALL) has been defined as a key stabilizer of internal tibial rotation at 35° or more of knee flexion, with a minimal primary or secondary stabilizing role in the AP direction. This study aimed to demonstrate that anatomical reconstruction of the ALL confers rotational stability equal to that of the uninjured knee.

Introduction: Long-term use of bisphosphonates (BPs) has been associated with a specific type of tensile side femoral stress fracture known as Atypical Femoral Fracture (AFF). Theoretically periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFF) should be excluded from the diagnosis of AFF. However, emerging evidence correlates prolonged BPs use with the occurrence of a type of PFF with an atypical pattern (atypical PFF, APFF).

Volumetric assessment of tumor size changes in pediatric low-grade gliomas: feasibility and comparison with linear measurements.

Purpose: We report a retrospective comparison between bi-dimensional RANO criteria and manual volumetric segmentation (MVS) in pediatric low-grade gliomas.

Methods: MRI FLAIR or T1 post contrast images were used for assessment of tumor response. Seventy patients were included in this single center study, for each patient two scans were assessed ("time 0" and "end of therapy") and response to therapy was evaluated for both methods.

Surgical treatment of neglected hip fracture in children with cerebral palsy: case report and review of the literature.

Case: A clinical case of a 15-year-old cerebral palsy child with a Sandhu type 2 neglected femoral neck fracture is presented. The patient was treated using cannulated screws and cancellous bone graft augmented with mesenchymal stem cells. At 6 months after the surgery complete fracture healing was observed.

Background: Direct antiviral agents (DAA) demonstrated high efficacy among HCV-infected patients in registered trials. Management of atypical femoral fracture: a scoping review and comprehensive algorithm.

Background: Atypical femoral fractures (AFF) are a rare type of femoral stress fracture recently described, potentially associated with prolonged bisphosphonate therapy. The present study investigated the effect of two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene, rs1544410 A/G and rs2228570 C/T, in modulating bone mineral density (BMD) and the response to treatment with bisphosphonates or strontium ranelate in postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO). Four hundred eighteen postmenopausal women from Southern Italy treated with bisphosphonates or strontium ranelate for three years were enrolled and stratified according to their genotype. Changes in BMD were expressed as the delta t-score (Δt-score).

Locking plate fixation of distal femoral fractures is a challenging technique: a retrospective review.

Distal femoral fractures have typically a bimodal occurrence: in young people due to a high-energy trauma and in older people related to a low-energy trauma.
