Computerized tomographic assessment and clinical evaluation in shoulder instability treated with the Latarjet-Patte procedure using one screw and washer.

Background: The Latarjet-Patte (L-P) procedure is indicated in anterior instability of the shoulder with a glenoid or humeral bone loss. Our purpose is to evaluate clinical outcome and computerized tomographic (CT) findings as position and resorption of the graft and articular degeneration.

Methods: From 2006 to 2009 50 patients underwent to L-P, 48 was contacted by telephone and 26 were available for follow-up (3 to 6 years).

Atraumatic vertebral compression fractures: differential diagnosis between benign osteoporotic and malignant fractures by MRI.

Atraumatic vertebral compression fractures are a common clinical problem, especially in elderly population. Metastases are the most frequent source of bone tumors, and the spine is a common site of metastatic disease; in case of cortical involvement or osteolysis, they may result in pathological compression fractures. Atraumatic compression fractures may result from other primary neoplasms of vertebrae and also from osteomyelitis, Paget's disease, hyperparathyroidism and other metabolic processes.

Spray formulation of silver and hyaluronic acid in the treatment of superficial cutaneous ulcers of different etiopathogenesis: analysis of fifty-four clinical cases.

Aim: The aim of this study was to assess a spray formulation containing colloidal silver and hyaluronic acid.

Methods: Patients included in the study were divided in two separate groups: 30 patients had chronic wounds and 24 patients had superficial traumatic wounds. Applications were performed at intervals of 3-7 days, depending upon lesions characteristics.
