Background: Pilot data suggest that off-label, unmonitored antiepileptic drug prescribing for behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia is increasing, replacing other psychotropic medications targeted by purposeful reduction efforts. This trend accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although adverse outcomes related to this trend remain unknown, preliminary results hint that harms may be increasing and concentrated in vulnerable populations.

Importance: Acetaminophen (paracetamol) has many pharmacological effects that might be beneficial in sepsis, including inhibition of cell-free hemoglobin-induced oxidation of lipids and other substrates.

Objective: To determine if the use of panoramic radiographs is a reliable method of predicting maxillary sinus membrane exposure or perforation during extraction of maxillary teeth.

Method And Materials: The radiographs of 72 patients were evaluated before extraction of maxillary teeth, and a prediction was made whether exposure or perforation of the sinus membrane was likely. This decision was based on the proximity of the root tip to the radiographic floor of the maxillary sinus.

Wound healing of the skin is a complex biologic process involving temporal interactions between numerous types of cells, extracellular matrix molecules, and soluble factors. The process of repair can be viewed as involving 3 or 4 phases: homeostasis, inflammation, synthesis, and remodeling. These phases occur at different times and differ in their cellular, biochemical, and physiologic requirements.
