Introduction: Understanding levels of HIV testing among populations at risk for acquisition is essential to meeting the goal of the United Nations that 95% of individuals living with HIV know their status. This study assessed HIV testing prevalence among men who had sex with men (MSM), characteristics of MSM who have never tested for HIV, and missed testing opportunities in Hanoi, Vietnam. Methods: We measured the prevalence of never testing for HIV and missed opportunities for testing in the baseline data of a cohort study of MSM recruited in 2017-2019 in Hanoi.

This study examines how EC, FF use, RC, POP growth, trade, GDP, and CO emissions are interrelated in China. It aims to clarify how these factors together impact environmental pollution and economic sustainability. The motivation stems from China's dual challenge of sustaining economic growth while mitigating environmental degradation, particularly CO emissions.

Background: The recognition of autoimmune causes of encephalitis has led to epidemiological shifts in the worldwide characteristics of encephalitis. -methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antibody encephalitis leads to well-established complex neuropsychiatric manifestations. In low- and middle-income countries, including Vietnam, its relative incidence, especially in children, is unknown and most neurologists currently consider infectious encephalitis prior to autoimmune etiologies.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy and agreement in nuclear cataract opacity classification between the Smart Eye Camera (SEC) device, and the slit-lamp. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted with a convenient sampling of 221 eyes from 139 patients with phakic eyes, visiting IVISION Eye Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from November 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024. Two grading systems, Lucio-Buratto (Buratto) and World Health Organization (WHO), were used to compare the effectiveness of the two devices, with statistical analysis using Spearman's correlation coefficient and Cohen's kappa to evaluate the agreement level.

This study investigated how children's punishment affective states change over time, as well as when children begin to prioritise intentions over outcomes in their punishment decisions. Whereas most prior research sampled children from Anglo-America or Northwestern Europe, we tested 5- to 11-year-old children from Colombia and Spain (N = 123). We focused on punishment behaviour in response to ostensibly real moral transgressions, rather than punishment recommendations for hypothetical moral transgressions.

Messenger RNA vaccines based on lipid nanoparticles (mRNA-LNPs) are promising vaccine modalities. However, mRNA-LNP vaccines frequently cause adverse reactions such as swelling and fever in humans, partly due to the inflammatory nature of LNP. Modification of the ionizable lipids used in LNPs is one approach to avoid these adverse reactions.

Laws of physics shape adaptations to locomotion, and semiaquatic habitats of water striders provide opportunities to explore adaptations to locomotion on water surface. The hydrodynamics of typical propelling with symmetrical strokes of midlegs is well understood, but the subsequent passive sliding on surface has not been explored. We hypothesized that morphological and behavioural adaptations to sliding vary by body size.

In recent years, infection cases of H5 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses (HPAIVs) in wild mammals have increased globally. To obtain recent epidemiological information regarding influenza A virus (IAV) infection in raccoons (Procyon lotor), the prevalence of anti-IAV antibodies in sera was analyzed among raccoons captured in Tokachi District, Hokkaido, Japan, from 2019 to 2023. Screening of serum samples using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and agar gel precipitation test detected anti-IAV antibodies in 5 of 114 (4.

Federated learning (FL) enables a decentralized machine learning paradigm for multiple clients to collaboratively train a generalized global model without sharing their private data. Most existing works have focused on designing FL systems for unimodal data, limiting their potential to exploit valuable multimodal data for future personalized applications. Moreover, the majority of FL approaches still rely on labeled data at the client side, which is often constrained by the inability of users to self-annotate their data in real-world applications.

This study examines the impact of the mandatory greenhouse gas emissions reporting program (GHGRP) on corporate greenwashing behaviour. Utilising the GHGRP in the United States as a quasi-natural experiment, we perform a difference-in-difference analysis to a panel dataset of 2731 publicly listed US firms from 2007 to 2022. The data consist of annual observations of firm-level variables, including ESG performance and disclosure metrics, financial characteristics, and environmental innovation indicators.

This study examined how immersion, an essential feature of games, affects various dimensions of education, including satisfaction of basic psychological needs (BPNS), academic engagement, perceived learning effectiveness, and perceived academic performance. Based on Self-determination Theory and the Theory of Gamified Learning, this study investigated how immersion influences autonomy, competence, and relatedness among learners, which could directly affect their engagement and outcomes.

Vertebro-vertebral arteriovenous fistula (VV-AVF) is an uncommon vascular disorder characterized by an abnormal direct connection between the extracranial vertebral artery (VA), as well as the first and second branches of subclavian arteries, and the draining veins of the paravertebral venous plexus. Endovascular occlusion or surgical ligation of the high-flow arteriovenous fistula is the main goal of treatment for VV-AVF, but there are no guidelines for the best treatment to date. Endovascular treatment is the primary treatment procedure due to its safety, effectiveness, and simplicity.

Introduction: Vietnam's goal to eliminate malaria by 2030 is challenged by the further spread of drug-resistant malaria to key antimalarials, particularly dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine (DHA-PPQ).
Methods: The custom targeted NGS amplicon sequencing assay, AmpliSeq Pf Vietnam v2, targeting drug resistance, population genetic- and other markers, was applied to detect genetic diversity and resistance profiles in samples from 8 provinces in Vietnam (n = 354), in a period of steep decline of incidence (2018-2020). Variants in 14 putative resistance genes, including and , were analyzed and within-country parasite diversity was evaluated.

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) CO reduction using a photocathode is an attractive method for making valuable chemical products due to its simplicity and lower overpotential requirements. However, previous PEC processes have often been diffusion-limited leading to low production rates of the CO reduction reaction, due to inefficient gas diffusion through the liquid electrolyte to the catalyst surface, particularly at high current densities. In this study, a gas-permeable photocathode in a continuous flow PEC reactor is incorporated, which facilitates the direct supply of CO gas to the photocathode-electrolyte interface, unlike dark reaction-based flow reactors.
