This study investigates the effectiveness of polyaniline oxide (PANI) nanoparticles as photocatalysts for the degradation of organic dyes under visible light irradiation. Known for their stability and adjustable conductivity, PANI nanoparticles were synthesized a hydrothermal method using P123 surfactants, followed by calcination. The morphology, structural phase, and optical properties of the synthesized PANI materials were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Raman spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

In this work, we present a comprehensive investigation into the electronic properties and contact behavior of γ-GeSe/GaSSe heterostructures using first-principles calculations. Two stacking configurations, γ-GeSe/SGaSe and γ-GeSe/SeGaS, are explored, both exhibiting semiconducting behavior with type-II and type-I band alignments, respectively. Notably, our results show that the band alignment transition in these heterostructures can occur spontaneously by simply altering the stacking configuration, eliminating the need for external factors.

In this study, a quantum chemical exploration was conducted to assess the antioxidant activity of xanthones isolated from marine sources, focusing on thermodynamics and kinetics within simulated physiological environments. DFT analysis revealed that xanthones such as 1,4,7-trihydroxy-6-methylxanthone (), 1,4,5-trihydroxy-2-methylxanthone (), arthone C (), 2,3,4,6,8-pentahydroxy-1-methylxanthone (), sterigmatocystin (), oxisterigmatocystin C (), and oxisterigmatocystin D () favor the SPLET pathway in water and the FHT pathway in lipid environments. The kinetic study of these xanthones reacting with the hydroperoxyl radical (HOO•) was conducted using the formal hydrogen atom transfer (FHT) mechanism and the single electron transfer (SET) mechanism.

This study aims to explore the feasibility of replacing traditional components, such as Portland cement, river sand and tap water with sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA), polypropylene (PP) fibers, and sea sand-seawater (SSSW) in lightweight foamed concrete (LWFC) production. SCBA was used in the range from 0 to 15% as cement replacement, and PP fibers were used with dosage from 0% to 1% by volume of LWFC. Predicting and evaluating settlement of shallow foundation using machine learning approach.

This study presents a novel approach to accurately predict the settlement of shallow foundations using advanced machine learning techniques while assessing the influence of key variables. Four machine learning models Gradient Boosting (GB), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) are enhanced with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for hyperparameter tuning, resulting in hybrid models GB-PSO, RF-PSO, SVM-PSO, and KNN-PSO. The experimental dataset comprises 189 samples, and model performance is rigorously evaluated through K-Fold Cross-Validation alongside R², RMSE, MAE, and MAPE metrics.

Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) are attractive gain materials owing to the wide range of accessible colors. However, the existing QD lasers struggle to combine technologically relevant metrics of low threshold and long operating duration with considerable output powers. Here a new class of full-color QD lasers are reported, featuring low threshold, uninterrupted operation for dozens of hours, and multimilliwatt output under quasi-steady-state pumping, by coupling the high-gain QDs with a double-clad pumping scheme.
